Question about Thorens TD-190 Turntable

1 Answer

Easrly stop I have a problem using my Thorens TD-190. The tonearm on my record player picks up too early when i'm playing some 45 rpm or 78 rpm. Owing to this problen I cannot listen to the last few seconds of these records. Does anyone know of a way to adjust it or to turn off the automatic lifting entirely? Enrico

Re: Easrly stop

You will have to disengage the mechanical switch off lift. Pretty nice for an automatic turntable.

Keep me posted.

How to rewire thorens tp16 arm wand

It all depends on the type of tonearm. Are you sure the wires are bad? They're pretty tough. Please take a picture of the tonearm and cartridge connections and visit my website at Thank you.

After an album side is finished, my Thorens TD 185 turntable disc refuses to stop spinning.

Some turntables do not return the arm to the rest. However if it did so previous then something could have broken or become out of place underneath the turntable. The only way to check is look under the turntable by removing the base and looking for signs of damage.

My Teac sl-a100 record player sounds like a chipmunk

somewhere on that player is a switch for 78-45-33 rpm the speed switch look up around by the tone arm above by where the record goes, it may not be on the front. switch it to the correct record you have 45's are small. 78's are medium and 33rpms are the big records..

Broken needle on thorens TD 158 turn table.

Needle is a term used with 'record players' from the 60's. A turntable has a Phono Cartridge with a stylus. Depending on the brand / model of said cartridge the stylus may be replaceable. The cartridge certainly is. The tonearm is a delicate precision mechanism that will last lifetime if handled properly.

If you don't understand any of this I discourage you from taking any further actions without a knowledgeable mentor / technician looking over your ahoulder.

Tone arm will not move over on self-start unless

Hi, they are not an auto start model turntable. To start lift tone arm off rest and move into position at start of record. It will automatically lift and return to rest as well as shut off at end of record. cheers john ,,
