Question about Whirlpool 25.6 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator with In-Door-Ice Dispensing System
I have a Whirlpool Refidgerator/Freezer. The were bought neww 3 years ago. Friday I got in the Freezer and my icecream was soft, I assumed the door was not closed tight ( I have kids. I made sure the door was closed and went to bed. Saturday the fridge was still working fine, icecream still soft. Sunday both fridge and freezer not working. The food is hot. There is a motor running, I pulled it out and cleaned everything real good, and turned temp to the coldest on both. What should I do? My Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer also quit cooling in a very similar way on Monday, May 26, 2009. The model number of my fridge is ED5CHQXKQ00, Type 25SSA. It's about 8 years old. There is a fan still running, however neither the refrigerator or freezer sides cool to lower than 57F despite having the controls set to the coldest positions.
You likely have a defrost system problem.....call a service company to look at it.
