If bumps affect the noise then you should be looking at loose wires and connections for the speakers and at the back of the system. Look for a bad earth or the earth wire connected up to something that is not really a good earth

SOURCE: heater blower motor works intermittently

I would replace the blower motor, this sounds like a motor brush problem inside the motor itself.

SOURCE: 2002 Grand am gt monsoon, hook up rear aftermarket speakers

You have to test them, either should work fine (as in use either pair) if that doesn't work connect one pair at a time and listen for the difference, one pair might be for factory midrange and other for tweeter.. there are two different wiring configurations...

SOURCE: wiring after market stereo to factory wiring equipt with factory amp

you have to get the cable that conects your factory deck harness to the aftermarket deck, and that will allow you to use your factory speakers and amp, the wire harness is availiable at canadian tire or any stereo shop

Will any 6x9 speakers fit my 2002 pontiac grand am in the rear deck?

I recently helped to replace the rear speakers in a 2001 (or 2002?) Grand Am GT.
It depends on the type of stereo you have. Look at the wires going to the rear speakers. If there are two wires to each, I'm pretty sure that almost any 6X9 speaker will work.

My friend had a Monsoon system, and there were 4 wires at each speaker. There are only a few speakers that can be used on this system. As I recall, the ohm resistance is different from typical speakers. If you have a 4-wire system, you should do some reading at these websites to see what speakers to use:
http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/index.php
http://www.grandamgt.com/
or try http://www.crutchfield.com/

I did read at one of the above Forums that there are GM replacement speakers (better than original):
"I just ordered two new Monsoon rear speakers from www.gmpartsdirect and they were only $85 shipped. They are a new part number which have been updated with better cones to help prevent blowing, part number is 22698418 " If you go with GM Monsson speakers, also try Ebay. Good Luck.

My 2004 Grand Am GT Stereo Issue

I had the same problem when I changed out the factory cd player. I finally found the problem was that grand am gt cars have a couple of amplifiers with crossovers in them for the speakers and the after market stereos put out sound that has been slightly amplified already and when you hook up your new stereo to the wiring harness your sending amplified sound from your stereo the the factory amp then to the speakers this sometimes messes with he sound and clarity of the sound. My car is 2002 and the factory amps are located 1 under the glove box and 2 in the trunk behind the carpet on the drivers side. The amp and crossover in the front is to split the signal for the door speaker and the tweeter by the mirror and the amp in the trunk is to split the signal for the two way speaker in the back by the back window witch if they are like my factory speakers have 2 wiring harnesses connected to each speaker. the only way I could get mine to sound good was to run new wires from your stereo directly to the speakers and bypass the factory amps. This may not be the only way to fix this issue but it was the only way I could figure it out. I hope this helps

Speakers have no sound coming from them.

There is not fuse for the speakers themselves. The speakers maybe blown out. I would take a speaker out and connect it to the home stereo and see if it works. I would check to see if the speakers are plugged in also.

I have come to find out that in the 90's auto makers started installing factory amplifiers in their cars so they could use low wattage stereos in the dash. It's usually a blue wire off the stereo that runs the amp, maybe it couldve become disconnected? I also know that even if you put in an after market stereo, this wire must be hooked up or you'll get no sound from the speakers. hope this helps.
