Cant get wap or mms settings for my sigmatel s98

Vodacom and mtn shops cant help.111 does not list the phone so they cant help me i cant start internet on my mobile phone

Normally it is your service provider who will send you the settings for WAp and MMS. Once you receive these, you need to save them as advised and you should be able to use both functions.

Have you tried contacting your Mobile service provider to check when they have sent these?

Please follow these instructions:

  1. On your mobile, dial *111#
  2. Select option 5 (phone settings) from the menu that follows. (Answer -> 5 -> send)
  3. Select option 1 to choose your mobile make and model from a list, or options 2 to have Vodacom identify the phone for you.
  4. In both cases, simply follow the steps as provided to get your WAP settings activated.
  5. You will receive an SMS with your settings, save these settings.
  6. If any of the above mentioned steps fail, simply retry.
  7. Still having trouble? Call Vodacom's call centre on 082 111 or visit a Vodacom outlet near you.

I am using new cellphone for MTN and put vodacom sim card. now i want to activate MMS settings.


In order to activate MMS settings you are required to call your vodacom customer care and ask them what sms you have to send in order to receive mms settings. Once you get the settings save them on your phone and make it default settings. Switch off your mobile take out your sim for 02 minutes and restart your mobile with sim inside it. Now you are ready for sending or receiving mms.

Downloading MXit from our WAP-site:
Jargon buster: A WAP-site is an internet website customized to be viewed on your phone.
  1. On your mobile, go to 'services' (globe icon).
  2. Create a new bookmark (www.mxit.com/wap) and save it.
  3. Select this bookmark, then select then 'go to'.
  4. You should be welcomed to the MXit WAP portal at this stage.
  5. Check that your mobile manufacturer and model has been detected correctly.

Virgin Mobile
  1. When you first insert your Virgin Mobile SIM into your mobile you'll receive an SMS asking you if you would like to accept Virgin Settings.
  2. If you reply YES, your settings for MMS and WAP can be automatically downloaded and installed on your mobile.
  3. Do the following to manually request MMS and WAP settings:
  4. Go to the 'Virgin Mobile' menu which you will find on either the main menu or applications menu of your mobile.
  5. Select 'Virgin Settings' and reply YES when asked if you'd like to download them.

this is for danzljams..... I have P1i configured with T-Mobile in the USA.... They have details of this phone in their database.... if you call T-mobile they will text you the settings for MMS, WAP, T-zones, etc, etc... when you open the text the phone will install the settings automatically and you will be up and running.

you have to contact vodacom customer care. settings could be recieved through service provider only it can be delivered to you by a network you are using.
