My Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Li 1705 no longer starts up. It gives a series of beeps (4-1-1), but this doesn't match any combination listed by Phoenix for their BIOS. What does it mean? Reseating or replacing the memory makes no difference.
Hi there.
For some strange reason the beep code you describe is not listed anywhere.
But, you can try this >>>>>
Get a can of compressed air and give short blasts through the air vents and the CPU fan (located under the laptop).
If you cannot get a can of air blow through the vents as hard as you can to get the dust out.
Take the battery out of the laptop, open the ram cover and take out the system memory, clean the contacts and slots with a soft, clean, dry paintbrush, put just one memory module back in the slot and plug the AC jack in (not the battery) and try to power up.
Please post back with the results.
Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Hi,
Sorry - no luck so far. Blowing through the air outlet dislodged a dustbunny from the fan, but after doing all the rest the laptop still failed with the same beep code.
Taking the memory out completely changes the beep code to 3-3-1, if that helps.
See my earlier comment. The solution was helpful, but didn't fix my problem.
Hi - Got exactly the same issue with the same PC - did you ever get it fixed? MW
