Driver download

This is a generic audio driver incompatibility. Go to control panel->Device Manager. Find your audio device and right click and go to properties. Go to the driver tab and click rollback driver. If this button is greyed out look for the audio drivers for your OS here:

Before you install the drivers you download here, do an uninstall of the device. This makes sure that there is no conflict in installed drivers. After that install CCleaner (it's Free) and clean both the computer of all junk files and registry errors.

If this doesn't fix the problem I'd restore back to a point when you didn't have SP2.

No sound

The designation -> AAC72418-109 - is also an Intel D865GVHZ motherboard,

Download AND install the Audio drivers, Bill.

Under the - Latest Downloads - heading, you can see the blue -
Automatically detect and update drivers and software.

IMHO you should MANUALLY download AND install.
This method works everytime.

On the Download Drivers page, you are required to choose your Operating System.

Since this wasn't stated, I'm going to choose Windows XP Home Edition for an example,

4 Drivers listed. Only ONE Audio driver;
Audio: Realtek AC97 Audio Driver

Click on the blue - Realtek AC97 Audio Driver

To the right of - Version - click on the blue -

Click in the empty circle to the left of -
I accept the license terms in the agreement

A small window will come up -
Opening AUD_ALLOS_5.10.0.6020_PV_RealtekAC97.exe
Click on Save File.

A small download window will come up. Allow the file to download all the way, then DOUBLE-click right on the file name.
At the bottom of the next 3 small windows, click on -
Next, Next, and Finish.

If you are not asked to restart your computer, close all windows, go back to your desktop screen.
Restart your computer.

Start > Turn Off Computer > Restart ]

No Sound icon in your desktop system tray, at the bottom of the Windows screen?
Go to > Start > Control Panel > Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices, and click on it.

Click on Sounds and Audio Devices.
Under the blue subheading - Device volume, left-click in the small empty square box, to the left of -
Place volume icon in the taskbar.

Now click on Apply, then on OK.

For additional questions please post in a Comment.

[Still no? Then suggest your audio chipset on the motherboard, (Integrated Audio) is bad.
Purchase a 7.1 sound card that fits in a white PCI slot ]

hello sudeep,
First check in "Device Manager" to see if there is a red x, or an yellow exclamation mark next to your audio hardware.
If there are no issues in device manager, uninstall the audio driver, and try once more.
If problem persists after installing the audio drivers, try a bootable cd such as Knoppix. This is a linux boot cd, but they tend to be the most strait forward. After you have booted to the live cd you can play a media file, or bring up a website such as youtube to see if your audio works. If it does work then it is definitely an driver issue, if however it doesnt work then this is a hardware issue. Luckily sound cards are inexpensive, and easy to install.
Good luck

I have got p4 pc deskop evo d310v computer which has no sound,

try doing a microsoft update in custom mode and see if any hardware drivers are found, you may get lucky and it will do it for you, otherwise you need to find out what kind of sound card you have and then go to the manufacturers webpage and download their drivers and install them.
