Congrats on your purchase... you should be able to get fire, ambulance, police, local utiltity companies, local tv station radios, and a bunch more... the best way to get your frequencies is online. Alot are posted for different areas.

go to google.com and type in your city, county, and "radio frequencies".
you should be able to get free lists of the different codes. Also turn you squelch down.. as soon as you hear static, turn it up just a bit to eliminate the static...that will be at the most sensitive setting without the static.

Have fun... you can also get a list of the "codes" that police officers use so you can tell what they are refering to. google for "police codes"

Have a blast and let me know if you need more help.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Get cops

typically you cannot "get cops" with a CB radio. Completely different frequency and broadcast method.

However, if local police departments monitor ch 9 which is known as the emergency channel, you can call on there for help. Not many police stations monitor it any more.

Cant get the new digital tv schannels

HELLO

There are differences in the frequencies used in NZ and Australia and this is why you cannot pick up ALL digital stations in Australia.

Example: NZ uses PAL B @ VHF and PAL G @ UHF
AUSTRALIA uses PAL B @ UHF and this is why the channels differ.

I would think the only way to get round this problem is to buy yourself a terrestrial set-top box or satellite box and then you will get all digital stations.

I have a motto: Always buy your TV in the country you live in. It would be like me taking a UK TV to France - the systems are different including the digital channels. Put this down to experience - you've learned the hard way!

ALL THE BEST!

Does the motorola MT 2000 pickup police stations?

The MT2000 can only be programmed by an authorized dealer. To have the police frequencies you would need permission of the police department, unless you were getting only the receive portion, which would make your radio be like a scanner.

Scanner codes

The following link may help you locate all of the things you are interested in listening to, and explains how to search for them. Once you have the frequency (the string of number, seperated by a dot), you have have to figure out how to "save" those frequencies into your particular brand of scanner. Some scanners allow you (once saved) to replace the numbers with a name, which is much friendlier, but also is specific to your brand of scanner (as to how to accomplish it). Here's the link;

Do you have a list of correct freq's for your area?
Make sure you have the scanner set on the correct mode (am/fm/ct/dc) for the freq's you have programmed. Each area of the country have their own individual freq. so their not stepping on each others transmission.

Are the transmissions you are trying to receive digital or analogue? The scanner will not receive digital transmissions.

I don't know about NZ, but in Australia, most emergency services are now on digital.

Are you able to receive any other frequencies, just to make sure the scanner is actually working?
