I lost the code to my universal remote and I don't know wat kind of remote it is

You will need to find the brand of unit you are trying to use the Universal remote on then get out your instructions for your universal remote look for the code of your product. Don't have the Instructions Go to Walmart and Buy a New remote for 10 bucks..........

Wanna know the code for a emerson tv

Which universal remote are you trying to program? The codes will vary by manufacturer (RCA, One-For-All, etc). Most of the universal remotes manufacturers have support sites for their remotes with either code lists or code finders available. For RCA remotes, start here: http://rcaaudiovideo.com/remotecodefinder/ and enter the model of the remote and the device type. Then look for the brand of your device.

Some devices are made by another manufacturer and the code for the company that built the unit may work if the brand of the device isn't listed.

Please note that universal remote codes are limited to those for devices released more than 6 months before the remote was programmed. If your device is newer than the remote, you may need a new remote.

    I hope this helps.

I need to reprogram my philips universal remote but I don't have the code.

Here are a few sites which I regularly use. There are some repeat numbers so write them down as you go.The numbers are basically universal for all remotes. The last link is 4 digit codes, the rest are 3 digits. If you have any questions or need more help, just comment here and I will get an autolink to your post and reply ASAP.I really encourage responses so I can follow up properly as I know where you stand and asking someone else restarts all the explaining because we cannot see other 'Expert's' responses.Good luck,Greg

I need a guide or manual for my remote control to work.

All of you can download any updated codes and instructions from the website of the remote's manufacturer.
The Zenith name belongs to LG Electronics so if codes are listed for LG products, try those.
    In addition:
I wish someone would bring a suit against any of these manufacturers using the term 'universal.'
At best, they are 'multibrand' and, with the proliferation of 'brands,' there never will be one that can rightfully claim to be 'universal.'
There may never be a code for your brand available in every remote.

RC64 remote will not work with my RCA surround sound RT2580

I hate to say it's unlikely that a "Universal" remote from DirectTV has compatibility with every system and manufacturer. However, my directTV model remote (and there are numerous ones) has a search function with which you don't need to enter a code... it finds one for you. If the control documentation doesn't mention such an option (Code Find), then I'd say your SOL. I'd recommend a Universal Remote made for no specific purpose but to be a UR... using a system included UR never comes off very well.

I would like to know the code for my dvd player remote so i can my amp remote

Codes are made up by the universal remote control manufacturers.

DVD player/TV manufacturers do not make codes for their products.

You will have to look in the instructions for your remote control to find a code. If you cannot find one, you will have to try the listed codes one at a time to see if any work. If that also fails, you will have to contact the manufacturer of the universal remote. Try going to their website. E-mail them if you have to.

Not all universal remotes will work with all devices. This is why universal remotes are not really universal.

    Tv remote code

Trying to program a universal remote can sometimes be a frustrating process. Successful programming of a universal remote depends on whether the universal remote manufacturer included our company’s information in the remote when it was assembled.

Then a cable company (ie., Comcast) or satellite provider (ie., Dish Network) orders their decoder box and universal remote control from a manufacturer (ie., Scientific Atlanta, Motorola, etc.), the decoder box manufacturer provides a list of all the possible remote controls this universal can duplicate. From that list the cable company or satellite selects which manufacture’s products to include on their new universal remote. Once those manufacturers names have been decided, they are placed on the universal remote and a numeric code is assigned. If they choose not to include our company on the universal remote, the universal remote may not access the Maxent screen.

If you cannot locate Maxent on the list provided to you by the universal remote provider, please try the following:

Through contact with various cable and satellite content providers we have developed a list of the most common numeric codes that are used with universal remotes.

    Content Provider/Most commonly used code

    Comcast: 1755
    Comcast (ML-3251HLT Model): 0054
    Insight: 1755

    Direct TV: 11755
    Dish Network: 742
    Cable Vision: 165
    Adelphia: 0156, 1755
    Universal: 0762
    One4All: 0036
    Time Warner: 0230

We have identified other manufacturers of display products that have similar remote control information to ours. Depending on the universal remote you are using these manufacturers may work. Please use the documentation that accompanied your universal remote, and look up the following companies. Input the numeric code associate with that company.

    Gateway
    Sampo
    Viewsonic
    Magnavox
    Phillips
    Marantz
    Pilot

If the universal remote you are trying to program contains a Code Search (the remote will scan through all the codes contained within the universal remote) function, we recommend that you try that procedure. It is possible that there may be another manufacturer code that may work with our monitor.

You may also want to try a Learning Remote from another manufacturer. This type of remote control can absorb or record the information coming directly out of the Maxent remote control. The learning remote then duplicates that information and acts like the Maxent Remote control. This type of remote can also record the signal coming from your other universal remotes in the same manner. In which case you can use this learning remote for your entire audio video system

please rate the chat session that got disconnected due to slow server if this helps.and if does not helps please reply for further help.

    Problems with remote codes

You didn't mention the remote model or make but 'universal' is something that the FTC should challenge as an outright lie.
Since each manufacturer uses its own code set and then isn't even consistent across the model spectrum they offer, the closest accurate description should be 'multibrand.'

If your remote came from a manufacturer large enough to maintain a websie, check there to see if codes have been added to the list that was included with it when new.

FYI: Emerson (the name at least) is now owned by Funai and you might want to try their codes if your remote does not have a 'search mode.'
