Hinge broke on LG VX8350 Phone

I have only had the phone since October - Verizon said that I would have to file it on insurance and pay $50.00 deductible - can the top part of the phone be replaced? If I got an old LG VX8350 phone could I just exchange the top on one for the top on my broken one? I have the exact same situation and I just came home from the Verizon store - "they are aware that this is an issue but since this is out of the one-year warranty, all they can do is for me is to recommend me to upgrade, pay the $30 fee for upgrading too soon, and pay for a phone for $150 ($50 rebate will be be returned) or I can pay $50 to get a refurbished exact same phone. Why on earth would I want another phone that is defected - because if this is an "issue" you know in time, this will happen yet again? Verizon was UNWILLING to help. I said well maybe I will need to take my business elsewhere - they could have cared less. So buyers beware - do not purchase an LG phone or sign up with Verizon. Neither one will stand by their products.

I had the same problem with my VX8350 and when I called customer service they told me the same thing, but then I took the phone to a Verizon company owned store and they replaced the phone for free as it was a know problem with this model.

How do I turn on phone? I can't turn on phone?

Some questions to consider...

Did the phone sustain some sort of damage (water....dropped onto a hard floor)? Is the battery good? Is the battery fully charged?

Also, the LG VX8350 is about 10 years old. If the phone is really dead, you could try contacting LG customer support to see what they say. They may require you to ship the phone in for repairs...if they decide that it can be repaired.

Download pics from verizon lg phone to computer

Go to your LG's menu, and select "Connectivity" (I'm assuming here that LG uses a uniform menu across several phones).

Select "USB Connection"

Select "Mass Storage"

Now simply connect your LG to your PC via a USB cable, and both your phone memory and memory card will be recognized by your PC as removable drives. Browse through to copy, cut and paste your files.

Today I turned my verision phone, LG Octane, off while in doctors office. Now it will not turn on. I have placed it on the charger, still nothing. What can be done? It has not been dropped, nor has it...

I loved my LG8350, until it did this same trick. I called the insurance company and they replaced it in less than 24 hours.

Bottom line, I dont think you can fix it yourself. If it is insured, call the insurance company. If it is not, have your service provider repair it or simply replace it.

Right Hinge Broken

Here is the response that I got from Verizon customer service today via e-mail. I, too, have the broken hinge on a new LG VX8350:

"According to our records a limited number of LG VX8350 devices may exhibit a cracked hinge or stress cracks on the front housing from normal operation. LG determined hinge / stress cracking is due to a production issue with the hinge. LG has implemented corrective action to resolve issue in future production and devices repaired by LG."

They are replacing the phone with a certified LG. All in all, I am very pleased with their commitment to customer service. I would suggest contacting Verizon directly and letting them know that you are aware of the hinge problems.

Hope this helps.

Hinge broke on LG VX8350 Phone

You need to march right back to Verizon and demand a new phone. If you do a search on the internet, there are multitudes of people with the exact same broken hinge problem. This is a design defect and should be replaced no questions asked. Verizon knows about this problem. I had my phone less than 6 months when my right hinge just broke...no dropping or other damage. I went in and they replaced it free of charge - because they knew about the problem. That was just a month ago and my right hinge broke again today...one month later. I am going to demand a new phone or they will be facing a class action law suit. Who ever told you this had to be filed with insurance and that you have to pay $50 did not know what they were talking about. Do what I am going to do and print off all of the complaints and present them to Verizon.

How do i Remove the sim card from LG VX8350

I'm holding my VX8350 right now, its a new one since I dropped (at least 20 sum times) my first one and broke the right hinge too. And unfortunately this phone does not have a sim card. If you end up getting this phone then I'd HIGHLY recommend getting the rubberized case. It makes holding onto it much easier!
