Question about Cell Phones

When I receive an incoming call, I can't hear any tones and the word "Silence" appears in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. How can I activate the ringing tone, so I can hear incoming calls, please? Thanks Rod

    Neither of these solutions worked.

There are no "Sound" settings - I tried Tone settings but no change.

Pressing # for 2 seconds or so doesn't work either - "Silence" still comes up when there is an incoiming call and so there is still no ringing tone.

    Any other suggestions please?

    Nokia 3110 cell phone.

Did you get my response, please?

  • rsheaves May 27, 2009

The response I got to my problem didn't help. He then asked for my phone model no. which I sent an hour ago, and I have heard nothing since.

I don't feel I have got $10 worth of assistance here!

Sorry, but changing Profile to General doesn't help. I still don't get any ringing tone from incoming calls and the word" Silence" still appears in the bottom RH corner of the screen when there is a call.

I don't have the manual with me, hence this enquiry.'

Go to the phone menus... look for profiles... change the profile to general... in this menu.. you can choose to personalize your ring tone. You can also change the volume levels here.. you can find all these info from the phone's manual... I hope this helps.. Have a wonderful day

try to reset your phone to factory default by pressing *#7780# then 12345

make sure you save all important data!

this usually solves the problems like this...

    by the way...

try to go to the general profile.. personalize it...

make sure that the ring type is ringing.

make sure that you have selected a valid tone.

check all the options under the general profile personalization menu...

im sure that there is just a wrong option there...

again... if you are not familiar on how to change the settings for the phone and stuff.. just do a factory reset...

You can change the tone settings of the selected active profile.
Select Menu > Settings > Tones. You can find the same settings in the Profiles menu. See "Profiles," p. 23.
To set the phone to only ring for calls from phone numbers that belong to a selected caller group, select Alert for.
Select Options > Save to save the settings or Cancel to leave the settings unchanged.
If you select the highest ringing tone level, the ringing tone reaches its highest level after a few seconds.

----> this is from the manual... set the ringing tone to the highest level... if that still doesn't work.. again.. just reset your phone to factory defaults...

Hi..
thera are two solutions for ur problem.
1)the first thing is that you might have kept the mobile in silent mode or the option would have made by default. to turn off this silent mode u can go to ur sound settings and turn it off so that next time when a call comes u can hear the ring tone...
2)u can turn off ur silent mode without goin to main menu by just pressing the # button for 2 seconds. ur silent mode will be turned off and now u can hear ur ringtone when somebody calls u...

thank u.. hope this solution will solve ur problem

How do i enable incoming calls in my phone?

One or more of the following problems may be there
1. Check if it is on silence mode. 2. Check network setting and switch between line 1 and line 2 , 3. If the caller can hear ringing tone then the problem is with your phone. 4. try the sim in other phone if it does not receive calls then contact operator/customer care 5. Put a different SIM in your phone if you can, then also, not receive calls then try factory reset of your mobile.

Thanks

My panasonic phones do not ring when an incoming call is coming in. There is a dialling tone on all 3 handsets and they all appear to be working ok

Ringer turned on? quite common and I'm a phone repair man. Does the calling party hear multiple rings? If it rings only once and goes to silence on the calling party end, there is a high resistance short on the line and it must be repaired.

I have a 2003 nokia 6600 mobile phone. When there is an incoming call the "go to' message changes to 'silence' and I cannot hear a ring tone.

Try to do formatt.Make sure batery is fully charged, turn off the phone.Do process By pressing and holding the button *, 3 and green button then press and hold power on button.Wait until the formatting appears on screen. Now you can release your fingers from The buttons.Dont forget to back up first Some Important data like phone number to the SIM card. Its probably missing when formatting.Good luck.
