    I have got the set top box working OK but have had to disconnect the VCR player/recorder to do this. How do I connect all in sequence? .i.e.Does antannae go to STB first or to TV or to VCR? Can all these cnnections with colours go through the interface box?. The I/F box does not provide for antannae connection.

The easiest way to hock up your VCR/DVD is by using a RF Modulator is a little box than you hook up to the regular antenna input of your TV and has tree RCA inputs for your video and sound.
just tourn your TV on chanel 3 and if your VCR is on then the you wiill see your VCR movie
when you tourn your VCR off then you see regular Cable/Satelite/Antena channels.
you can find them at Walmart and some times at dollar stores for under $15.
One nice ting is than you can hook more than one. One after the other and hook up more devices like your video game and don't need to press buttons just turn of the device than you are not using.

Good luck :-)

Hello sir, we have read your problem at fix ya!. you have specified that you want to connect the high definition set top box to your Panasonic tv. you should have been provided with coaxial cables as well as provided with many video output options like HDMI, RGB (D-SUB), Component (YPbPr), S-Video. but you havent specified the model of your Panasonic tv. coming to your problem, check the instruction manual(video output) of both the tv set as well as the set top box. the pins for the connection to set top box must be provided at the back side of your tv. you can find it easily and check which provided cable can be connected in the tv. in the back side of set top box the pins labelled video output will be provided. you connect the other end of cable to these pins. coming to the sony vcr you have specified that you have audio or video selector box, which can be used as an interface between the vcr and tv. hope your problem is tackled. thanks for using fixya!... if you are not satisfied this solution please write back to us. thank you.

Have Sony VCR model SLV-N80/N70 . Cannot get it to record using Samsung TV model SLV-N80,N70.

The television has nothing to do with recording. It is only required for playback. There are a number of possibilities depending on what equipment you have. Do you have cable, satellite, antenna? Your signal source has to be connected to the VCR either through the cable connector, or RCA video jacks.
If you have straight cable, connect the cable to the "ant in" connector on the VCR. The VCRs tuner will select the channel you want to record. If you are on antenna, you will need a Digital set top box (STB) to receive any channels.
If you have a satellite, cable box or digital STB, you must go from the output of the box to the input of the VCR. You can use the standard coax cable,but I would recommend using the audio/video cables for better quality. If using coax, the VCR will have to be set to either channel 3 or 4, depending on the boxes output setting. Using A/V jacks, the VCR will be set to "Line" or "Video" input.

Dear Technician, I have 4 components that I am trying to connect together, a Panasonic HDTV model #TC-L32X1, a GO Video DVD/VCR model #DV2130, a Yamaha stereo receiver model#RX-690, and a Scientific...

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Unfortunately, size limitation of what could be attached prevents posting a connection diagram. Still, proposed connection scheme:
  • 4250HDC's HDMI to Panasonic's HDMI 1 or 2;
  • 4250HDC's VIDEO OUT to GoVideo's LINE IN 1 VIDEO;
  • 4250HDC's AUDIO OUT to 2 pcs of RCA Splitters (shown below);
  • 1 pair from the 2 splitters to GoVideo's LINE IN 1 R-AUDIO-L;
  • the other pair to Yamaha's LD/TV L & R;
  • GoVideo's LINE OUT VIDEO to Panasonic's VIDEO IN 1 VIDEO;
  • GoVideo's LINE OUT R-AUDIO-L to 2 more RCA Splitters;
  • 1 pair from the 2 splitters to Panasonic's VIDEO IN 1 L-AUDIO-R;
  • the other pair to Yamaha's VCR 1 IN L & R;
  • to watch cable TV in HD quality, set Panasonic to HDMI 1 or 2 by pressing Panasonic remote's INPUT button, then 3 (or 4), then OK;
  • to hear cable TV programs on Yamaha's speakers, set Yamaha to LD/TV;
  • to watch DVD or VHS, set Panasonic to Video 1 by pressing Panasonic remote's INPUT button, then 6, then OK;
  • to hear DVD or VHS on Yamaha's speakers, set Yamaha to VCR 1;
  • to record cable TV programs, press GoVideo remote's TV VIEW button a couple of times to cycle through the signal sources or until Line 1 is displayed.

The use of the splitter shown below would effectively double the AUDIO OUT of the cable box and the DVD/VCR combo to feed both the TV and the stereo. Additionally, this would allow use of the cable box and/or the DVD/VCR combo with or without the Yamaha.

Connect Bose 901 VI EQ to a Harmon Kardon AVR 247 Amp

Similar problem...I came up with a solution with help from Onyko. For my receiver, at least, the bottom line was that the output from the equalizer MUST go to 'Receiver, Tape In'! Since that is the ONLY input source from the equalizer, you must combine elsewhere. Part of my setup included the Radio Shack Audio/Video Selector box which costs $21.99...you might not need it, but in my case, I couldn't plug all components into the back of the receiver and have them go through the equalizer.

Since I have a satellite receiver, DVD player and TV, that I want to route through the equalizer, here is the way mine is set up and working:

Satellite receiver and DVD player out to Radio Shack audio/video selector

Audio/video selector out to VCR in.

VCR video directly to TV

VCR audio red/white (audio) out to equalizer

Equalizer out to Receiver Tape IN (Receiver Out not used)

Hope this (or a variation of it) helps.
