Cant acess d internet from my phone

i bought my phone brand new from d shop cause it was sim free. i put my meteor sim card in d phone, turned it on and though everything else worked i was surprised that when i turned it on,d welcome screen said "welcome to O2".when i try launching d browser it says connecting to O2, but after a minute or so it says "unable to connect" i'm wondering if its because i've a meteor sim inserted. is there any way to solve this problem
