Don't let the computer turn the monitor off. Go into control panel and click on power option. don't let the computer turn anything off and disable hibernation if on. go to screen saver and have it come on in about 30 mins.

Hello,

The problem you are having is caused by a power supply board that is starting to fail. Parts called capacitors start to fail and the power supply does not start up as it should and requires power cycling to get it going. Most VX2235 units use the DAC-19M010 power board. Here is a link that shows how to repair the board by replacing the bad capacitors.

Look for bad caps as shown in the VX2235 album.

Almost the same chassis as VX2235.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

I have a viewsonic LCD VX2235 and it just went black. It switches from the green light to amber light with no picture but you can see a faint flicker in the background. Please help

Look for bad caps with bulging tops as shown in my pictures here: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/Viewsonic%20VX2235W/
They should be replaced as a set (6 black cases, 2 brown cases). Use PANASONIC FM or F series from Digikey.
Please post back what you find.

My VX2235 sometimes goes blank (black) for 2-3 seconds, then back on. This has happened thru 2 M/Bs and 3 Gr.Bds. Happens more on digital connection than on analog. Any ideas?

Common failure in this monitor is bad caps in the power supply or lamps, you need to open it up, post back what you see inside so we can guide you further, see example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

VXx2035wm is black. I turned it off, and it will not turn back on.

First place to look will be the caps in the power supply, this monitor may be almost the same as VX2235, see example of VIEWSONIC with bad caps here: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see so we can guide you further.

Assuming your cable is good & your PC (video card) is properly functioning & everything is plugged in correctly,;
If the screen flickers a bit when you start it, then the problem may be in the power circuits. Open the back & look for burned components on the circuit board. (capacitors, fuses, resistors, transistors, whatever.)

If it does not flicker then the bulb is likely burned out.

connect the monitor with another desktop. If if works then problem is with your ram/graphics card or motherboard with inbuilt graphics. If the monitor functions the same way as before have a look at the pins on the connector. Bend/dirty pins can play havoc. If they are ok take the monitor to service centre.
