What AUX cord do I use on Emerson RS1008

the problem is NOT AUX cord, you must clean the contacts Male+female with contacts cleaner, from dirty, oxide, corrosion, and try again.
However if the problem persist, you have IC amp faulty, go to repair shop TV for fix it.
God bless you

Amplifier has a phone jack for remote. Stereo has a blue wire for remote. Do these two need to connect to each other, or can I just run a phone cable from the amp to a remote switch mounted up front. ...

No. That port is for your gain(volume) control switch for the amp(it should have been included with the amp). Connect the stereo's blue remote wire to the amp's remote input that's next to the batt. input and ground input. Here's a link that showed me the pics plus a pic of the switch with the phone jack cable. Copy and paste. Good luck. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_2553_Volfenhag-ZX-8300.html

This is a subwoofer amplifier, it has a remote for the gain and frequency, I cut the remote cord to get it out of my old vehicle assuming that a phone cord would work. Kenwood probably mashed up the wires...

  • Them remote control wires are set up like a phone cord but the pin out is gonna be different. You would need the same style adapter as the one you cut the wires off and a phone wire crimper. If you have the old connector save it. Look at the color of the wires as they are in there. Get a phone wire crimper and crimp the wires into the new connector the same as they are in the old connector.
  • If you through the tip away then you will have to locate the manual and look up the pinout for that cord. You didn't list the Amp or the model number so I can't reference that for you.
  • It is a pain in the yup but it is simple enough to do.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony

My amp has no volume unless turned all the way up and only on the high input jack

check the "Gain" on the instrument you are plugging in ... if it is all the way down, that's the problem. If that's not it, check for a "Gain" control on the amp itself -- the is a volume control that takes care of the sound BEFORE it goes through the amp (pre-distortion etc.). Sometimes this is not with all of the other controls on the amp, so look carefully.
If it is not the gain on your instrument, and it is not the gain on the amp, then make sure you are not using too long of a wire to connect the two things. If you are using a 100ft cord to connect a guitar to an amp, there will be a lot of signal degradation in the wire, and it will be hard to get good volume from the amp since it is not getting enough signal to amplify.Try a shorter cord, and that might help ...
If all of these have failed, check the fuses on your amp. If there is a blown fuse anywhere, then your amp might not be getting the full power that it needs to produce the sound you are looking for (though a blown fuse usually cuts out ALL power through the amp, some models are built differently and this could cause your issue)
If none of these solutions work, try hooking the amp up to something else that you know works fine, to make sure it is the amp itself, not what you are hooking into it, that is not working right.
If all of this turns out to be an Epic Fail ... try speaking with customer service at the amp's manufacturer ... it might be a defect that they have seen before, and they may replace it, or at least give you a better solution that what I have done.

WILL THE REMOTE CONTROL FOR AN AUDIO AMP PRESET THE AMP WHERE THE GAIN ON THE AMP ITSELF DOES LITTLE GOOD

all the remote does is turn the amp on or off. the volts running through the RCA cables will have an effect on the gain control

The amp turns on but doesnt put sound out

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty. Double check all connections. Send back ri factory for best repairs.
A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you.

Can you use 16g s/o cord from the j-box to a 2x4 highbay fixture. the voltage is 277 volt & is a fluoresent fixture.

The voltage is OK for the SO cord .. but since it is a field installed cord it needs to be sized for the amperage rating of the circuit supplying the fixture .. #12 for a 20 amp circuit, #10 for a 30 amp circuit etc.
