Hi, UNPLUG the dryer! Remove the rear panel of the dryer and locate the fuse. It is white and ¼” wide and 3” long. It is located on the blower housing. Remove the wires and check to see if it has continuity. If it does not, you need to replace it. To test the element you can start the dryer and check voltage. There should be 240V to the two terminals on the lement, If you have voltage and no heat, the element needs replaced. If the element does not have voltage, UNPLUG the dryer and test the thermostats located on the element housing and blower housing.
They should all test closed. If not, replace the one that is open.
Please let me know if this help or if I can assist you further.

Thanks
Vic

My Whirlpool clothes dryer model GEW9200LW0 stopped drying completely. The drum turns but no heat. It began slowing down the heating process approx. 2 years ago. Any suggestions?

Electric Dryer Does Not Heat
  • If your Whirlpool electric dryer is having trouble heating, you should check all of the thermostats, the thermal cut-off, all fuses and the electric heating element for continuity and proper connection.

Dryer won't heat

The first thing to check would be the power, I know that sounds silly since the drum turns but your electric dryer uses 240 volts to heat and only 120 to run the drum. Check the circuit breaker or fuse by turning it off completely then back on.

If that does not fix the problem you have one of two components that have failed. Either the thermal cutoff or the heating element. The cut off is a small two wire heat sensing switch located just above the heat element. They are both accessible from the back

I have an Maytag model # MAEDZ600TW2 Epic Z Electric dryer , the drum turns but no heat , circut breakers were checked , lint screen is clean , btw , date of purchase was 3/23/09

There are 2 common reasons your dryer will not heat.
1. Your limit switch is out on the dryer not allowing the heating element to switch on.
2. Your heating element is out.

before you try to fix this yourself it should be covered by warranty.

Maytag Neptune Dryer not heating

Q - My electric dryer runs but will not heat, what could stop my dryer from heating?
A - Things that could stop a electric dryer from heating:
- house fuse or breaker ( needs two of them ), heating element, burnt wire, thermostat(s), thermal fuse ( not all models ), motor heat switch, timer, selector switch, burnt power cord/plug.
A ohm meter test for these parts is here.
