An older 61 inch scenium. It will power off on its own - the green light in front goes out and about 2-3 seconds later the light comes back on and the tv comes back on. This is now happening quite often - maybe 10 times in 5 minutes. Last night we were advised to unplug the unit ( we did for all night ) and so far today it has not gone off ( about 3 hours now ) any suggestions

Not a Plasma by the model number listed.

When green power light comes on and goes off a few seconds later:

Press and hold on the front of the set both the Menu and Input (source) buttons at same time for at least five seconds and let both go.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like: 2 blinks, 2 blinks and a pause and repeat it several times.

If set has been unplugged it clears the errors and you must turn on and when power light goes out repeat.

Let me know error code found and I will help

There is a problem in the feeding source tendria that to check her

Possibly bad connections at/near flyback on power board. Possibly blown capacitors.

this happened to me with my RCA Sceium 52 inch floor model, for 2 years before I figured out it was
over heating. Of course I had no money to fix problem. What I did is simply put a cool fan on back
or AC. Even rolling in front of a sliding glass door when its cool out will work well. Cold air on back
will stop it from turning off.

My exact same problem turned out to be the cable box not the TV. Try unplugging cable box for 5 minutes then power up! Solved my problem!

I had the same problem with mine. It was overheating. I installed a small cpu cooling fan on the back of the unit. No problems since. Good luck.
