Question about GPX MW3816 MP3 Player

Open Question

MacBook Intel and GPX MP3 Player

My MacBook Intel with iTunes will not recognize my GPX MP3 player.  I'm running Mac OSX Tiger 10.4.10. I can drag my m4a songs from iTunes into GPX that shows up on my desktop. When I eject the player and turn it on it says I have no files.  Is there a driver I need to down load for my GPX before I can use it with my Mac? I can't seem to put songs onto my iriver mp3 player using my Mac book... When I insert the disc to begin then click auto run a message comes up reading: Unable to read dictionary of this application or extension because it is not scriptable. Is there anyway to solve this problem or does iriver just not work on Mac?

SOURCE: MacBook Intel and GPX MP3 Player

The GPX MP3 Player will not recognize .m4a files. You must convert the files to MP3 files first. To do so, in iTunes, click "Edit, Preferences". Change the tab to "Advanced". Inside, there should be a second tab control. Change that to "Importing". Change the "Import Encoder" to "MP3 Encoder". Close those windows. Select the song you want to convert to an MP3, right click, and choose "Convert selection to MP3". Then, locate the file that was created, and put it on your GPX. If you want to convert your entire library, just select all files using Control+A.

I can not get my Apple Macbook laptop to recognize my Mp3 player or add music to it. Says device is unreadable and gives me option to "initialize", "eject," or "ignore" when I plug it in to my computer....

Before you blame your MacBook, make sure another MAC can read your player. If it can, then it's a hardware compatibility issue. Would suggest you back-up your data on the MAC and upgrade the OSx to the latest version. If you have Leopard, please update to Snow Leopard at least. The update disk costs very little and is very easy to do by simply inserting the CD and following the instructions. You will need to reimport your programs and data using the Time Machine program on your MacBook. Max out the memory in your MacBook while you are upgrading it. Crucial.com provides most of the memory for most mfrs, you can use their site configuration to determine the best memory for you MacBook.

Download music to mp3 player from macbook

Generally, MP3 is the most common music file format and can be recognized by all MP3 players, so you'd better download music as .mp3 file extension. I know an excellent tool used to search for and download music to Mac. It is a program running on Mac OS X 10.7 and the later. And it is really the best way to get music downloaded. Download it from the below link. http://anymp3downloader.com/

Can I use Coby MP305 4GB MP3 player with iTunes on my Mac?

Hello,

You cant synchronize with ITUNES to a Coby MP3 player. Itunes will not recognize the device. Also, Itunes are AAC format which this unit doesn't recognize.

If you have MAC. plug unit into computer, it should show up as NO NAME on your desktop, you wuold have to drag/drop your MP3 file to this location.

If your interested in converting ITUNES to MP3, here is how you could do it on ITUNES "this does not work for purchased music" -

Is this compatible with Mac os x?

It isn't supported but can still be used.

I have an iRiver H10 5gb and use it with my Mac osx. It isn't recognized in the usual plug and go way. I have to connect using 'UMS' mode. Then I drag and drop the files like it is an external drive.

To play the songs back, I go into the browser of the iRiver. Although this method renders some of the features on the player useless(ie, sorting the songs by artist, etc.) There are some fixes for this, but I have yet to understand them enough to apply them.

They are found on these websites:

Download songs from ITunes on Macbook to Digital Audio Player

Itunes uses a file format called AAC. There aren't too many players other than the Ipods that can play AAC files. This is why your songs won't play on your Sandisk player. What you need to do is get a mp3 converter, I personally recommend DBPoweramp, excellent program and can convert nearly everything. Once you convert your AAC files to mp3, they should play no problem...

Can I use iTunes to rip music to the MW3847 MP3 player? If not, what's my best bet, I'm on a Mac?  Thanks!

I spoke with the GPX service rep today, and she told me that iTunes doesn't seem to work with this model, or she is guessing with most of the current flash-based GPX MP3's. I personally have tried to move things from my external HD to the GPX, and it always says "copy protected," as I am trying to drag these from iTunes program on my computer. She said you will probably have to use the Windows Media Player to do this, but you can actually erase the CD's once you have backed them up on your GPX, so that you don't unnecessarily clutter your internal hard drive with duplicate songs/albums.
