Where is the filter

I called the local HVAC and the said the filter is inside the furnace. We can't see where. They insist it's there. We opened up the furnace and it says "no internal filter". We have ice build up on the outside. any suggestions?

Most filters are located at the air intake grill if filter is at unit then loctoated in bottom of unit their are two screws one on each side that removes a 1" wide panel some times it is taped over if no filter present then coil could be stopped up open the coil case and remove the tri angle cover to insepect this area but first I would feel the suction line 3/4" at the out door unit to make sure it is cold also feel the air from the out door fan should pick up about 20deg if not low charge most likely reason for freezing hope this helps

I need a part for this furnace. Its the female brass fitting that carries freon from the outside unit to the inside. The line snapped inside and I need that part.

You're going to need a lot more than just the fitting from what you describe. Refrigerant (that you will not likely be able to purchase), filter, manifold gauges and more. Call an HVAC pro to solve this for you.

Electric Furnace heating coil stays on constantly

There are devices called heat sequencers that activate the heat strips and when get old they pop apart inside and don't keep the contacts open. You need a new triple heat sequencer, might get one from a mobile home supply house or call an HVAC co.

Hello, I have a carrier 58sta in the townhouse were renting. A few days after moving in the furnace was getting louder and louder each time we run the ac. It now sounds like a jet engine when it starts and...

the electrician might be able to help somewhat but an hvac tech is the person to call. It sounds like you have multiple issues if the thermostat is acting up that bad replace it!! but that wont stop the noise from the furnace thats either the blower wheel or the motor. ive seen filters get sucked in the blower wheels and destroy them then they make a buch of noise. if the filter hadn't been changed in a few years then the motor is probably going bad. you could check to make sure there is nothing in the blower wheel. make sure the power is off open the bottom compartment of the furnace use a flashlight and look around then stick your hand in there and feel around, if there were animals before sometimes a blanket of hair can develop on the blower wheel. make sure you dont touch the capacitor which looks like a little siver can near the blower motor it can shock you even with the power off. good luck

It simply stopped. The box outside is switched on.

I am going to assume you are talking about the outside condenser. If the thermostat is calling for heat and the furnace blower is on, you may want to check the capacitor inside the outside unit. Disconnect the power to the outdoor unit and open up the electrical compartment. There is either a round or oval silver cylinder inside by the contactor. That is the capacitor. If the top is buldged it is a true sign of a capacitor failure. Remove the cap and take to your local HVAC Wholsaler or contractor to have them replace it. It is a very common part and should cost you around 15 to 25 dollars. Let me know if this helps.
