Printing in Mirror image

I am using a HP L7590 and when I print a report from Pastel (accounting System) it prints in a mirror image. This has only just started happening in the last week If I print to a different printer it prints correctly.

Hi,

It's likely that you have an old outdated printer driver for your L7590 as this has been a long "known" issue with the L7000 series of MFD's.

To resolve the issue properly you need to uninstall the current driver version and then download the latest version of the software that isn't just driver/basic based.

You can extract the source files including the drivers folder using 7zip if you want to try and avoid installing all the additional bloat that comes with these printers.

Failing that, you need to define alternative quick settings to take over from duplex (two-sided) printing as this appears to have been incorrectly set to use mirror printing. Other quick settings have been implicated as well but the driver update should resolve all of them.

In some instances the driver update doesn't apply properly so you may need to uninstall and reinstall more than once... Remember to delete your printer from the printer listings and unplug it from the USB cable before you uninstall and reinstall to get it to work properly.

Hope this helps.

I have an HP that does the same thing. Mine is the Officejet Pro l7650 - which I hate, btw. I think it started when I changed a setting when doing photos. Since then it is hard to get the MIRROR image off permanently BUT if you go into PRINT PROPERTIES, PRINTING SHORTCUTS ( select one ), ADVANCED, and change the MIRROR IMAGE to OFF, the click OK - it will at least print properly for a while. That setting should hold but it continually reverts back to MIRROR IMAGE "ON" when you reboot your computer OR change to another shortcut option.

I would recommend reinstalling the software to solve the problem permanently, as I think that is the long term solution.

I plan on doing the same.

I have HP Office Jet L7680 All-in-one printer, for unknown reason it keeps printing the "mirror image" of a document I'm trying to print

Try this...
Go to <Start> <Printers> Right click on your printer and select properties. On the "advanced" tab uncheck "Print Mirror Image". I know the path works for other printers, but I can't validate it for you that model.

Prints backwards

Hello,

You have probably turned on the "Mirror Image" option.

When you go to print and the Print window comes up, select Preferences and then the Advanced tab. Look for the Mirror Image option and Disable it by clicking on the underlined option and change it.

(BTW, the Mirror Image is used to print iron-on images for t-shirts, etc.)

NOTE: If you don't see it on the Advanced tab, look on the Effects tab.

The mirror image setting is in the printer properties/ printing preferences. You can either go to control panel/printers/properties, or when you press print, and the window pops up, in printing preferences you can choose the mirror image setting.

L7590 printing right to left

Dina, I'm posting this as a solution so you may rate it as Fixya:

Is this a mirror image you are getting?

If so, open a document, select Print.

When the Print window opens select Preferences or Properties (whichever yours has). Click on the Advanced tab and look for a Mirror Image option. If it says ON, click on it and it will change to a drop down menu. Select Off.

As for the faxing...There is not much that can be done except perhaps check the resolution you are sending faxes at. The higher the resolution the longer it will take to send.

When you select "Print" and get the print window to confirm....select "Preferences". On the Advanced or Effects tab, look for the "Mirror Image" menu item. Turn it Off. If you cannot find it, comment back.
