What kind of radio did you have it wired for. Some 4 pin mics are wired alike and others may be different .

SOURCE: how to wire a power echo mic up theres 5 wires and 4 oins

I suggest buying a 5 pin to 4 pin adapter. Ebay has them for $6. I would go chopping wires on the mic. Cobra 29 ltd is a nice radio. Have one myself.

Use trial and error systemathically. If still refuses to work, mike and radio aren't compatibles.

I need to wire a silver salute mic to a cobra 142 gtl 5 pin what color wire goes towhat mic pin

dont go by colors.. go by what wires are on the switch and mic element.. mics can be rewired and no one told you the colors could have changed FYI..

Pin #1 ~ Audio
Pin #2 ~ Shield
Pin #3 ~ Receive
Pin #4 ~ Switch Wire
Pin #5 ~ Transmit

always go by connections not color of the wire. that way you learn and you can do any mic. to any radio.

I'm trying to wire a galaxy desk mic to a cobra 200 10 meter mobile

  • The Galaxy desk mic (power mic) is already wired four pin and the Cobra 200 is a 4 pin already as well. So unless someone has messed with them the mic will plug right up to the radio as is.

  • But if someone has repined the mic then follow the pinout I listed below to get it rewired for the Cobra 200
  1. Pin #1 on mic connector - Black wire.
  2. Pin #2 on mic connector - White wire.
  3. Pin #3 on the mic connector - Blue wire.
  4. Pin #4 on the mic connector - Red wire.

  • If you look on the end of the mic connector it will have the imprint of the number for each pin on the mic.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony

I need to find a replacement 6 pin micriphone

Your going to have to keep looking on places like ebay, on CB radio forums.

You can get a 6 to 4 pin connector and you can use the radio. The only thing the extra 2 pins are for is to change the channels with the mic. they are not necessary of operation of the radio.

Also, you have to make sure the mic is wired for the radio you have. You may find a 6 pin mic, but you might have to rewire it.

I have a 6 pin mic, but its not going any where.

Converting a different brand of mic for a midland CB

This should be a typical Midland pinout. If you are using a generic 4 pin mic that is wired to cobra/Uniden, all you have to do is switch pin 1 & 2, then 3 & 4.

Not all mics are color coded the same with their wires.
