When I turned on my Canon Elura 100, the motor whirred free, like the partially used cassette tape was spinning away. When it stopped, the camera wouldn't play or record, and display said "check tape." I opened the cover to eject the tape, and the motors spun again, but the tape won't eject. I tried recharging, even ejecting with the power cord plugged in. Nothing works. Any suggestions?

I have a canon elura 100. Haven't used it in a long time because I had to buy a replacement power cord. I charged it the other day and when I turn the camera on, a large vertical white line appears on the LCD or in the viewfinder. There is no picture. I tried to reset by taking out back up battery and battery pack but still there when I turned the camera back on.
