The control board is probably bad. Did you try a new battery and have you verified that your charger is charging correctly?

PCB is fried. Most likely water intrusion shorted something inside out. Electric shaver store.com has all the parts you need.

pit back in the charge station for at least 4 hours and switch the power on for the charger
many small battery chargers will flatten the battery if the power is switched off

I have a braun shaver 8000 series. My problem is that it does not charge anymore. I also tried to connect the plug directly to the shaver but there was no power. Is it possible that the rechargeable...

The problem you've stated about your Braun model 8585 is related to old batteries. If the charging light still illuminates when you plug it in, you can simply replace the batteries which can be found at the link below
https://shaveroutlet.com/shaver-replacement-battery-aa-nimh-p-108.html
If it completely dead (no light), you will need to replace the circuit board instead. See here:

Braun 7526 not charging the + light wont turn on? how can i fix this?

In your case, it's hard to know exactly what might be wrong without more information. Was the shaver perfectly fine and then all of the sudden won't turn on? Or was the shaver working for shorter and shorter periods over time and then just quit? Was it exposed to undue heat, such as left in a car or in a place that wasn't air conditioned in the hot summer?

Although the batteries in these shavers are fairly robust, if fully discharged and not used for a long while, it might be that they've got a "low level memory" and will need replacing. If you are handy, you could disassemble the shaver and replace the batteries. They are NiMh AA flat top batteries that you can buy on websites like onlybatteries.com. If you're handing with soldering, you can replace them yourself. If you're unsure about that, you can buy the batteries along with the circuit board as a complete unit that drops right into place. Shaveroutlet.com sells these.

Another thing is that if the shaver was dropped, there's a chance that a metal connector part has come loose and so the shaver won't function. Taking it apart, you can see if this is the case.

The Braun 7000 series are rather old at this point, so sending it off for repair is kind of out of the question, as the costs involved would be more than if you bought another shaver. If you're not wanting to spend the big $$ on the new 9000 series shavers, find a new old stock 8000 series shaver (they are better made than the 7000 series). You can search on "that auction site" and you'll find quite a few Braun 8000 (or 360) series shavers available for sale.

Head (foil and blades) used to last 10-12 months. Now they last about six weeks. I don't hink I have done anything different when shaving. Braun Syncro is abotu four years old.

Six weeks? That's very peculiar. Are you certain that they are seated properly on the shaver? If there's a problem with the head and they're not fitting into place slightly off, they can end up wearing out faster.

If you've used your shaver for a number of years, your best bet is to probably step up to a newer model Braun shaver. The 7000 series was OK, but the 8000 series is much better. You can still pick up new old stock ones off "that auction site". They shave not much differently from the new 9000 series (Pulsonic). Good luck!

Braun Series 7 760cc dead after 2 months

Had this same problem with mine. One month after warranty was done with. I ended up opening the thing up and pulled the monster battery out of its socket and put it back in. Worked fine after that. One week and still strong. Another thing I did was to carefully bend up the flat pieces of copper around the battery to make sure they were still getting a good contact with the pins on the cover. Hope this works for you....

  1. The black rubber/plastic cover on the back will pop off if carefully pried apart from the gray plastic. Start around the middle of the razor body.
  2. Once the black piece is removed you will see four screws holding on a plastic cover. These can be removed with a sharp flat head screwdriver.
  3. The plastic cover can then be pried from the razor body. Be very careful though as there is a rubber seal around this to keep water out. I broke mine.
  4. Inside you will see a somewhat large red battery with prongs on either end. Pop it out of its location and wait a couple of seconds. Press it back into position and you should hear a click for both ends.
  5. After this, I took all of the flat copper pieces and gently bent them towards myself (without making them touch of course... this could cause a short and potentially cause the battery to explode).
  6. Replace everything and see how it works... Hopes this fixed it for you and saved you $100-200. Have a good day!
Also... I am not responsible for any damages that may occur.

Problem with electrics on stand

Sounds like the stand is faulty.

Try http://www.braun.com/global/contact/servicepartners/asiaaustralia.country.html to find the state representative for Braun, who should refer you to a local repairer.

Braun Shaver 360 Complete #8985

the 110 plugin goes into a circuit which changes AC to DC for charging the internal NiCad batteries. If there is NO charge whatsoever in the batteries, the shaver will not work. If you have any electronics background a simple test with a VOM will determine if the bridge rectifier is putting out any DC.[you must disassemble the shaver] If you have no experience on circuits take it to a repair location.
