I had the exact same problem. It was the evaporator coil had a leak. The coil is covered under waranty the labor is not! It was $295.00 labor and $48.00 for the gas recharge.total $343.00. Hope this helps! Yes, the price was high but it fixed the problem.

Part # was 4204420

Sub Zero evaporators are known to leak - I would call Sub Zero and demand they cover all the costs.

Ice on back wall of fridge

The ice forming on the back wall of your sub zero indicates that you have a part failure. I don't recall exactly what the part is but as soon as you mention your symptoms to a sub zero repairman he'll know your problem. It's an easy fix. Everything comes out of the fridge, takes the inside back wall off and replaces the part. Not an inexpensive repair, however the part is guaranteed for 5 years so you may have an opportunity to have it replaced under warranty as I did.

It sounds like your fridge has had some servicing done on it and has been over charged with freon and needs to be decanterred.Kind Regards.

Sub zero refrig - ice forming inside

The solution posted previously is TOTALLY WRONG. A Sub Zero ref doesn't have a heating element in the fresh food section. Only in the Frozen food section. It has 2 totally separate systems for each section. 2 Compressors and 2 evaporators. They share a condenser. If you are having ice build up in the refrigerator then the problem you are having is a refrigerant leak in the fresh food evaporator. You need to have a certified tech come out and replace the evaporator in your refrigerator section of your Sub Zero. Not sure what you are asking about the thermostat.
