Access 2003 wont start

I have just had to reformat my hard drive and have loaded Microsoft Office professional 2003 - all the programs are running except the one I really need - Access. When I try to load it (from the programs, all, office task bar- it says reconfiguring Office 2003 and nothing happens!! All the other programs open as normal.I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, the software fix on the disk but still no joy. I am at frustration level 10 - any ideas??
