Question about Onkyo A-9555 INTEGRATED DGTL AMPLIFIER (BLK) System

1 Answer

I have an Onkyo A-9555 integrated amp that used to work ok but now when I try to power it on only two of the source indicator lights (Tuner and Line) light up along with the Loudness button light. Nothing else happens... you can't change inputs by turning the selector. Resetting the unit by using the press and hold Pure Source button then press Loudness and release both at the same time suggestion in the manual doesn't do anything either. Does anyone have an idea what the solution to this is? Thanks,

Hi, I have the Onkyo HT R230 Integrated Amp/Tuner, Onkyo EQ15 Equalizer. How do I play the Tuner thru the Equalizer

I don't think you can. You can run any other component thru the eq first then to the amp but not the tuner.

Fuse type for onkyo a-9555

The main power fuse for most amplifiers is a fast blow, 125 volt fuse for the US and a 250v fuse in countries with 220v. This unit is 125 watt so the main fuse should be 2 amps or so. The correct fuse size is written on the circuit board next to where the internal fuse was located.

I agree that there's something enviromental to this but I'd think you would see lights dimming around the house at the same time if it was a brown-out.

Is there anything on a timer that switches on at 9:00 PM? What would happen if you moved the power to a different source? That may help isolate the circuit that's straining.

Also make sure you're NOT sourcing heavy-power-using accessories from the convenience outlets on the receiver.

I do not see any inputs to connect a subwoofer to my Onkyo A-9555 integrated amp. I would like to know if it is possible to connect it and what kind of subwoofer should I buy for that wit the best...

You amp has no OUTputs for a sub, but if you really want to attach a sub you'll need to get one that is self-amplified and accepts >>>stereo<<< High Level or Speaker Level inputs.

Otherwise your amp's volume control won't also control the sub's volume.

You would feed it full-range audio from the speaker terminals on your amp and its internal amp would use that to develop its own power output for the sub.

Here's one example.

Can i play only 2 speakers throuh my surrond onkyo amp?

Of course you can use 2 speakers with your Onkyo assuming you will not hear the surround effect. Just connect your speakers at Speakers A terminals and go on.

Amp protection circuit has been activated

sometimes the protection circuit will enable because of a bad speaker i would suggest taking the load off of it by removing the speaker wires and turning it back on. if it stays on take an ohm meter and check the speakers should be between 2-4 ohms load.

Onkyo 9555 protection circuit

Make shure your speaker wiring is solid hookup to amp and spekers (NO CROSSED WIRING). Also make shure speakers are not wired in parallel or the speaker impeadance will be to low and amp will kick out.Turn speakers off then hook up headphones and crank up volume then see if amp kicks out.If it does you have an internal overload and needs serviced. If it playes ok then you must have speaker problems or wiring.
GOOD LUCK
