Question about Dell A940 All-In-One InkJet Printer

The color red will not print on My Dell A940 printer.

After using two new cartridges, the color red will still not print. Only the Yellows and Blues print making everything shades of green. How do I fix this problem.

Try find another printer(same model- says printer B)...take printer head from printer B to your printer(says printer A),use your ink cartridge and test your printing....if all color seen on paper, then the problem is your printer head, to make sure is it true or not, use printer head from printer A into printer B.see the result...

Did you replace your ink cartridge with a original ink cartridge or you just refill it.

As you know refilling your ink cartridge might cause this error.

-try the old cartridge if it will print the correct colour; the problem is the cartridge; otherwise it is the printer.

Check preferences under printer properties and make sure print grey scale is not selected

On HP C1700 printer, all red colors print as a form of pink.


hi....take it to a tech to check about the system control chip... the control chip would have gone bad... and they will replace u with a new chip..or else Try manually moving the head carriage back and forth a few times!
Also check, if there isn't some piece of paper lodged inside, if yes try to remove it carefully!..

Test your cartridges.

Remove the color ink cartridge then lower the cover of your printer. If the error message displays again, replace the black cartridge with a new one (or return the new one). Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black ink cartridge then lower the cover. If the error message displays again, replace the color cartridge with a new color cartridge.
Note: My manual indicated that the printer might have detected a short circuit in a cartridge. I returned a month old black cartridge got a new one and my printer is working fine now. Good luck.

hmm..ok..if the test page is good, then it's in the drivers. get new ones, remove old ones first, re install try again.

Dell A940 Color Ink Problem


Do check the option and make sure that you have not inadvertently set it to black only- This could be computer wise or on the A940 panel. If you are sure all is well here Remove the scanner software and reinstall. Email Dell to See what they have to say
