Question about Canon Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Can't auto copy odd sized pages.

On ImageRunner 4570 I want to copy a stack of credit card bills. However the copier only copies about 2/3 of each page. How can I get complete copies?

You need to turn off "auto paper select", and manually select an appropriate size /orientation, because the sheets are close enough to a particular size (based on the sensor locations) that the machine is choosing it for you.

How can I can get rid of "R" page/tray setting in copier shown on the screen

The only way I know of is to rotate the blue paper size dial on the paper cassette. The " R " is for the reduction of the copy image onto the paper when using an analog copier. With the new digital copiers the " R " is meaningless. The paper for " R " direction is paper that its length is going from right to left in the cassette and the plain paper size is paper its length is going from front to rear direction in relation to the copier.

I am feeding a portrait fax letter size and it is being received partially - one half is cut off. please explain

It sounds as if the document feeder is not recognizing the proper size of paper. Try making a copy, is the copy correct or is the copier indicating to load a certain size of paper. The paper width guides as well as the raised tabs on the document feeder tell the copier the proper paper size. Could the problem be on the other end? I know I have several customers that have the paper size dials or indicators incorrect for the paper in their cassettes. This would be if only a single reciever of your fax is complaining. You may want to see if rotating the fax in the LTR-R direction works.

I have a canon 4570 imagerunner, the problem i am facing is when i am printing a copy 2(sometimes 3) horizontal lines appears on the print.please sugest. Thank You

If the lines repeat in a regular fashion, with a consistent distance from each other, you need to replace the imaging drum. I would take a print out with the horizontal lines on it, then fold the paper up until two of the lines overlap each other; this will tell you the general diameter of the drum and give you an idea of what to look for inside the machine.

When it copies, the copy comes out landscape and i can not change the paper select option to show portrait. also, it cuts off the bottom of the page as well

Kindly change the direction of the original. If at present you are keeping it horizontal way change it to vertical. You will get the correct print.

The streaks are full page on both edges top to bottom and occur with printing and copying.

I suspect the drum unit might done its time.On this model you might find you can do 50000 to 90000 copies on your drum before it is done.First replace the drum.If problem sill presist the fixing unit can be the cause of the lines.

How do i make a booklet?

Select BOOKLET function, found in SPECIAL FUNCTIONS. Select which size paper is required and then select FINISHER to select STAPLER and SADDLE-STITCH, then load your document into the document feeder. Select number of copies then press start button. All of this is only applicable if a Finisher and Auto-Doc Feeder is installed. Let me know if this helps?

Legal Sized 2-sided Copies through Automatic Feed

Does the copier print correctly when copying off the glass? I suspect that the document feeder has been set up to feed other paper sizes eg A4, A4R. Because of the conflict between sizes the copier adjust the image.
