Rosemary, Symbols are not specific to keyboards but font sets
I cant paste one in here but on a windows computer open a utility called Charmap (enter 'charmap' in the search box)
Once opened change the font name at the top to Wingdings, 2nd row down 3rd icon in is a keyboard, click it, click select at the bottom and then copy. You can then paste this in to a document and change its size as if it was a normal letter.
open the rem.control and clean the keypads for bad contacts, oxide, corrosion, and dirty. and try again. if the problem persist, go to the repair shop TV for fix it. God bless you
I can help you with your Sharp EL-531VH Scientific Calculator problem.
To access the symbols above the keys, press the '2nd' button first, then the button with the symbol you want. On my calculator the secondary functions are in orange, not green, but I suspect it is the same deal just a different color.
I have a digital copy of the manual for this unit - I will update this solution with a link after I have posted it to fixya.
Press the [MODE] key to access the mode comfiguration screen . Set angle unit to to radian (see above) Enter angle value in Decimal degrees only, use the [2nd][ANGLE] key sequence to have access to the degree symbol. The degree symbol must imperatively appear at the end of the angle value.
Here are some examples If you use angle values in DMS, it will not be converted to radians, but to decimal degrees. If you omit the degree symbol there is no conversion.
Use the Shift key or the Alpha key to type letters. If there are two symbols near a key,on the body of the calculator, the symbol to the left is accessed with SHIFT, the one to the right with ALPHA. On certain calculators symbols are color-coded.
Solution#1: Accidentally pressing Sft+Numlock key combination will activate & inactivates ten key pad. (You'll see light enabled in padlock symbol with a number in it [i.e.beside ALL CAPS symbol on your lap monitor]).
Use: "ShiftKey+NumLock" (NumbLock Key: 2nd panel from Top right on keyboard)
