I think there is no problem at all...it is memory-thing...the computer must always keep updated eventhough u r just look at the icon that ceated inside CD.otherwise it will stop if u do nothing for a long time (if i correct, for about 5 minutes halt)..CD use ROM which means Read only memory-so, i hope it answer your question....

Try cleaning your DVD drive but if the problem persists there must be hardware problem you should sent it for repair or replacement if it is warranty.

Cd drive not wroking

Drive could be bad, BIOS settings may have been changed, could have virus or malware causing issues, there are a number of things it could be. Without looking at it, it would be hard to know for sure.

Cd Drive in Mac iBook 4 is malfunctioning. Disc will not mount.

Shut the machine down. Find the original CD or a retail OS X installation DVD. Start the machine up and immediately hold down the option key. You will see a icon of your hard drive. Now insert the CD or DVD. If it immediately spits out, your optical drive needs replacement. If it does not, click on the U-shaped arrow button to rescan the drives. If the CD/DVD does not show up, your optical drive needs replacement. If it does, choose it and boot from it. If this actually works, you may have a software problem -- this is low probability, but possible.
Keep in mind that the CD and DVD read heads are separate. If one of those is malfunctioning, your drive will accept CDs but not DVDs, or vice versa. If you see this behavior, your optical drive needs replacement.

Open, closes and rotates the cd compartment, endless...

If there's a disk left over inside, It's stuck in the drive hanger, and should be removed else the changer can't put it back in it's right slot. Open the machine and check for any CD's still inside.

If not, could be that the small sensore (to the left of the head assembly (just before the drve (upside down)) is dirty or messed up.

Try cleaning if.

Hp disc drve

It's a little strange that the CD burner (I presume you're trying to burn a CD?) is drive F: it's normally D. Can you please open Windows Explorer (press the "Windows" key and E simultaneously) and give us a list of the drives you see in the left hand panel. You should see drives C, D,E and F (possibly other after F as well(. Can you also say what model the computer is, what operating system you are running (e.g. Windows XP) and which software you are using to try & burn the disc. Then we can try & figure out what's wrong :)
