Question about Mitsubishi WS-55311 55" Rear Projection Television

Mitsubishi WS-55311 flashing screen

Until now this TV was working perfectly. Recently, from any input setting it will suddenly flash a blank screen (all black) in a pulsing manner but in irregular increments in the middle of watching TV, playing XBOX or even with just a blue screen. When this even happens neither the remote nor the TV operating panel function. One time the volume just spiked up to full blast without me touching anything. I checked all connections and they are secure.

tride this but didn't work

First thing to try is to press the reset button on the front of the TV. This forces a system reset.
                                             can anyone help!

I have the exact same problem as descrived by bud162's with the same type of tv. When the problem starts to happen I turn the power off and wait a while before I turn the tv on again. When I turn the power on, it might be OK and work for the rest of the day, but other times the screen is still flashing so I just turn it off.

    Any other suggestions out there?

SAME issue.  blue screen or inputs plugged in, i get audio flashing off/on/off.  problem persists even after i unplug ALL input sources, leaving only the power cord plugged in.  audio works JUST FINE through my surround sound.

First suggestion is to unplug your unit for 24 hours, if does not correct your concerns, you may have fluid leakage from the tubes onto the pc boards. Make sure you have proper air venting around the tv. If problem persist call factory authorized dealer in your area. good luck

My ws-55311 shows blue screen on all inputs except the DTV input

This set has 3 hidden menus accessed with a different 4 digit number code----You need the Mitsubishi remote to enter.

One of them is the Option menu which will allow a hard reset of the TV back to factory original---98% of the time it will restore all inputs--cures all sorts of odd problems.

If you have that remote and want to try it let me know for sure the model number and I will give you a link to the instructions for doing it.

Mitsubishi ws 65857 no picture but screen pulsates. bulbs ok

code 12 indicates no fault. tv probably needs the high voltage board rebuilt, have a shop do it. Maybe you need to check all the connections.

Mitsubishi WS-55311 answer you gave me.

Before you replace a board, please double check or use different cables, make sure the cables are in the proper out/inputs, rgb to rgb. Try 'comp' 2. Composite vs component uses two different paths to produce a picture. Also, after taking tv's back off ensure that all boards are seated properly, since this happened after movement. CAUTION: make sure the unit is poweless, unplug tv. Let me know. Good luck....
