Unable to register the handsets to my Corded/Cordless combo phone

I am able to hear the other party, but they cannot hear me. I have installed and charged the new batteries. the problem began before the new batteries. I tried to program the handsets from the base unit to no avail.

You must charge each phone individually on the main base unit for at least 20seconds before use. Do this with each phone-again on the main base unit, then you should be able to register and return other phones to separate cradle. I hope this works for you

What happens when you plug a different phone into the jack? do you experience any problems. Try to remove the battery for about twenty seconds and then reconnecting? If these does not work it may just be a bad phone? I hope one of these solutions works for you

Unable to register the handsets to my Corded/Cordless combo phone

I would need to know the make and model of your phone and how old it is. If it is a recent purchase, the vendor company can offer technical assistance. If it is an old phone, contact the manufacturer. There is no blanket solution because each phone has individual characteristics. If you still have the manual, it can offer solutions. I love cordless phones, but no matter what I do, I find a cell phone is the only real way to be mobile and talk on the phone. But I refuse to pay the high cost of cellular. Then I found this: (http://www.3centcell.ca/admin/affiliate.aspx?314 )

Calling party cannot here receiving party

This can be one of a couple of things. First of all, if this is a multi-handset phone, go off hook on two handsets at the same time and see if you can hear yourself in both phones (Speak into one while listening to the other) If it is only a single handset phone, do the same thing only with another phone. If you cannot hear anything coming from the uniden phone, it may have a bad mic in the handset and would need to be replaced. (the handset not the mic) If you bought it less then a year ago and still have the receipt, call uniden at 18002971023 and they will help you get it replaced.

Registering a new cordless handset

It doesn't exactly "register" but you turn it on via phone programming.

Just plug it into the headset jack, then select a button to program and press PROG (the button) and dial 67 enter.

When you press the button, the light will turn on and the display will say HEADSET ON. Pressing it again will turn it off.

Registering Handsets to the Base
Whichever handset you choose to charge in the base is automatically
registered to the base. Any additional handsets must also be registered to
the base before you can use them.
Be sure both handsets are fully charged.
One at a time, place each handset in the base. The charge/in use LED on
the base begins to flash, indicating the base is registering the handset.
Wait for at least five seconds, then pick up the handset and press
[talk/flash]. If the display shows TALK, the handset is registered. If not,
place the handset in the base to try again.
Press [end] and continue with the next handset.
Note:
Once both handsets are registered, it doesn’t matter which
handset is placed in the base or the charger.
When you charge the handsets, Caller
ID summary screen and the name of
the handset appears.

This can be find from uniden website.
