Keyboard stopped working

The keyboard just stopped working. The computer sat idle for six months. The keyboard was working when I left, but now, nothing. My mouse still works fine, but I can't type anything. I tried putting new batteries in, then I tried unplugging and then plugging in the receiver. I tried pressing the green button underneath...still nothing. I went to the control panel and it says the keyboard should be working. I don't know what else to try.

I tried both of your solutions but no luck.

The mouse doesn't have a docking runs on 2 AA batteries just like the keyboard.

My PC is a Dell Dimension 9100 and the keyboard model number is RT7D40

There should be a button on the receiver as well as the keyboard. if so try holding the button in on the receiver and while still holding the button in press the the one in on the underside of your keyboard then let off of both. if that doesn't work try pushing the button on the receiver then let off and then push the one on the underside of the keyboard. if these methods do not work please supply us/me with the brand and model number so that i can view the manual and give you a definite answer.

Hi there.
Firstly check the battery compartment for any leakage from the batteries while you was away, if there is leakage clean it off and reinsert the new batteries.
If there is no leakage insert the batteries.
Now, does your mouse have a docking station? I am guessing you have because it sounds like your keyboard is wireless.
There should be a connect button on the mouse docking station, if there is press it and hit the connect button on the keyboard and then hit the space bar, hopefully your problem will be solved.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Best bet would be to empty the fuel left in it then buy some fuel stabilizer and refill fill the tank with good gas also check the battery and fuses.

Touchpad left click not working

Have you tried opening the laptop up again to see if perhaps the contacts under the left-click button were misaligned or something? To me, the easiest way (meaning not opening up the laptop again) is to just double-tap on the touchpad to left-click, or just get a cheap wireless mouse.

Hi. I recently moved house, as a result, my Logitech EX100 wireless keyboard sat in a box, unused for about a month. I unboxed it and set up my PC once we'd moved house, but I couldn't get the keyboard...

When batteries leak, they usuallly rot out the connectors and anything in the local. Your warranty may have been voided with that so don't be too hard on yourself because you had a crack at sorting it out.

Besides, you've now got a trendy doorstop.

Computer is one month old and keyboard and mic

Take it back as it is more than likely under warranty. Your messing with it may have a negative effect on resolving the trouble.

If you bought this new and it has a warrenty, send it back to them and get a new one.

Battery use for a keyboard and or mouse should be months, not days, my set uses them for about three months then need changing, have gone as long as six.

Keyboard Vol + key is not working.

Check to see that the batteries are good. They may have sat on the shelf long enough to have lost strength until you bought the unit.

Have you tried the connect button underneath the keyboard? Sometimes they get out of sync.

You will have to press the sync button on the stand first and then press the sync button on the keyboard. Good Luck
