Question about Dell XPS M1530 Notebook
My Dell xps m1530 won't start vista. it used to work fine, then windows update ran and it restarted. After the restart, the computer started but Vista didnt, it just sat on the loadignscreen for 15+ minutes. Startup repair goes to the loading screen, then goes to a blank screen. However, Knoppix runs fine from CD. My 1530 ran just fine until I shut it down the other day... the next time I turned it on... only a black screen appeared with a mouse cursor in the upper left hand corner. It doesn't respond to F2, F8, etc... nothing. Any suggestions?
Well I aleredy encont that problem. You must do an "dell factory restore". I dont remember how to do it but call dell and ask for. If your laptop isin't in warenty they should tell you where to find it (free). If you are in warenty they will tell how to set the factory restore. I must warn you than there is a big risk to loose all your data in your hard drive (incluing your windows seting). Good luck
