This is a straight forward wiring project involving 110 volts of electricity and a 15 amp circuit.

If there is already power available at this location use it. If not, run a wire to the cabinet above the hood location with enough extra to drop down into the hood area and hook it up.

Once you have the power wire in place it is just a matter of hooking the wires up black-black, white-white, ground-ground screw.

enjoy your new hood.

The yellow and green wire is a ground wire. Attach it the ground wire coming from your electrical source, which is typically a bare wire.

Recent rain storm, water came out from failed baffle, the power did not trip the circuit, but the unit no longer power's up?

Depending how the unit is installed..you may have a ground fault type outlet up in the cabinet someplace. Maybe on top of the cabinets. This will cut power to the unit without tripping the breaker. Just find the outlet & reset the GFI outlet. Fix the leak.

The pictures that are posted on the Jenn Air site are confusing. I waited until I received the unit to make the cuts. I am glad that I did.

Jenn Air stove wired backwards

The fan is likely 120-volt fan, and swapping the wire likely put 220 across the fan. Did the fan seem to rev up very fast? The control is also likely 120-volt, and that too had 220 applied to it.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done.

Wiring 4 wire cook top to 3 wire outlet

What you have is a 220v and a 110v circuit within the cook top. It needs a 4 wire feed to supply 2 hots, 1ground, and 1 neutral. The 3 wire outlet only has 2hots and a ground no neutral, which will probably not allow your control circuit to operate. You nee to run a neutral wire to obtain a 110v circuit. DO NOT try to run neutral off the ground or you will energize your cook top cabinet and it will shock you. Your solution is to run a neutarl wire from the closest circuit that you can find.

Jenn-Air Glass Door - How to Clean

Sounds familiar. I saw this thread this afternoon while trying to clean my own oven window. My sense is it is definitely a design flaw. It's just too easy to drip something down the top door vents onto the inside of the multiple glass panes.

Here's what I did. I removed the door, following the manual instructions. Open the door to 1/4 and lift it up. Then I put it down on a soft surface and started removing screws until it came apart. It wasn't too complicated though it took some time. Be sure to keep track of your screws as you do this as there are a few different kinds.
