On my projector. I plug it in, and the power light just blinks red. Nothing else happens or works. I took it apart and everything looks all right, and the fuse works. But I don't know what could be wrong.
I had the same problem with the blinking red light. I looks as if realy RL701 on the main power board is the problem. I removed the cover of the relay and cleaned the contacts. Despite the contacts being worn down it worked great. I have ordered a new relay from Sharp for about $35 to replace it (part # 95CK3102AL001).
Kc5mgc! Your advice is great. We have fixed our problem with blinking red light "power" by cleaning the contacts of RL701. I decide to add photo cause we have some difficulty to locate the RL701. The most problem was to remove the cover from RL701.
I had the same problem with my PG M20x. A friend of mine and I took it apart and found that the main power wire that runs to the lamp ignition, and then to the actual lamp, came unplugged. We plugged it back in and everything works. We aren't sure how it came unplugged, but we assume it may have been dropped at some point.

According to the manual, a red blinking light indicates that the lamp cover is open. Try reseating the lamp and making sure everything closes up right. If the light is still blinking, it is most likely a problem with the projector itself and you may need to find out about getting it serviced.
Both power light and status light a solid red with no response to any buttons indicates the bulb timer has expired. You need to reset the timer by pressing and holding the left arrow key, the right arrow key and the power button all at the same time for a few seconds.
If there are no problems, the projector will fire up, but you must replace the bulb as it will fail soon and perhaps explode when it does.
Just so you know guys (and this procedure is not for the faint hearted!). I had the slow one second red warning light flash. I checked the bulb, which was find and I left it powered off for 48 hours. My projector is no longer under warranty and would have cost me over £300 to have it looked at. I ventured inside to inspect the boards, once I removed the main board to check the power supply I heard movement from one of the light ducts. It took me a while to removed enough to discover the fixing screw which holds the imaging cube in place (which is between the 3 light ducts and the projector lens) had come out (!?) and was rolling around inside the unit. This would also explain why sometimes I could not focus my unit properly. I remounted the imaging cube, put the whole thing back together and PRESTO! My projector is working again. email@example.com
If it is a lamp error try this: When the lamp exceeds 2100 hoursof service, the projector cannot turn on and the manu is not displayed. Do the following: For VT670/VT470 Press the help button on the remote control for a minimum of ten seconds. For VT570/VT47 Press and hold the power and the exit buttons on the remote control simultaneously for a minimum of ten seconds. When the lamp time clock is reset to zero, the lamp indicator goes out. Hope this helps! :]
