Usually that is due to a virus or P2P software. You can turn it off if you want.

Logging into your 2wire by typing 192.168.1.254 in the address bar of your browser.
Click on the firewall tab then advanced settings
You will see attach detection on the right hand side
Uncheck the box for "excessive sessions" box
Then hit save.

If you have up to date protection already the only thing I could suggest is trying several online scanning tools to make sure your system is clean. Here are some ones you can try:

    http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/
    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
    http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/defau...
http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner (this one only detects virus will not remove like the others)

This small trick will show you how to remove the Google Custom Search page and get the old Google webpage for queries.

  1. Click here
  2. The link will redirect you to the Google Advanced Search Settings page.
  3. Change the default keyword with the one you are looking for.
  4. At the end of the page click the Search button.

If this trick doesn't work try these other suggestions:

  • If you are logged in Google try to log out and make a new search.
  • Try to clear your Browser cache. On your browser, go to Settings, Privacy and clear your cache. Try with a new Search.
  • Go to http://www.google.com/cse/manage/all?hl=en, log in and delete or turn off Google Custom Search engines.
  • Do you have toolbars installed on your browser? Delete them, restart your computer and try to make a new search.
  • Scan your computer for viruses. Sometimes, malicious viruses install Google custom search engines on your browser to make you click on their ads.

My Wireless-G router (WRT54GS) is working fine but some websites (mostly Google and YouTube) are not working right, on Google, all of the search types like images and videos and maps look exactly the same,...

The router won't have anything to do with what your search results are (I have the same router.) However, depending on how long this has been going on, your internet provider may be having some technical issues, and will be resolved quickly. The problem with your internet bringing you to strange websites that you didn't intend to go to is quite odd, I would attempt a virus scan just to make sure something isn't trying to harm your computer.

If you are using internet explorer, download firefox and see if that fixes it. If you download firefox, and it doesn't work in both Internet Explorer and Firefore, then it is most likely a firewall or virus issue.

Run a complete virus scan using a good virus scanning program like Malwarebytes.

Check your software or router for any firewall settings that could prevent Facebook from working.

EACH TIME I AM ON THE INTERNET ON MY PC IT SHUTS DOWN FOR NO REASON, MY SON HAS A LAPTOP ON AT THE SAME TIME, HIS STAYS ON . THE ROUTER IS DOWNSTAIRS WITH THE LAPTOP + THE PC IS UPSTAIRS ?

There could be and issue with what is call collision which is rare but happens when the router is located in a spot where both computer are use at the same time but the most dominantly used computer will take up the bandwidth and the other computer will be shut down to restart.
Another issue may be a virus in the system.
Gaming sites or place on the internet that are scanned with your anti virus software will cause shutdown. To protect the PC. Usually you will get a warning that "this site is unknown" and the PC will go into shut down due to the firewall settings.
1. check the location of the router and see if you can relocate the router to the upper floor.
2. check your sons computer for viruses
3. scan your computer also
4. Download a program call Ccleaner for registry cleaning. this is found with a Google search for the official site. This program usually will clean you "temp, file, history and etc if set properly. Instruction how to use is on the site and in the program.
5. check your anti virus software settings

I beleive that this is a virus. some Viruses corrupt the device settings on a mouse or keyboard. you will to try to boot the computer in safe mode. to this when you tun the computer on press the F8 btton on the keyboard. then select safe mode with networking and hit enter. when the computer boots up you will need to run a virus scan. another option is to take the hard drive out of the computer and put it in another computer and run a virus scan on it. Viruses that usually cause this type of problems are redirect viruses found when searching on google.

It sounds like you have a virus blocking comcast.net because I seem to be able to get there perfectly fine. If you have a virus scanner, run a scan. If nothing shows up, download AVG Antivirus and run that. If nothing shows up again, try Ad-Aware, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, and Spybot S&D.

If you don't have antivirus, get one of the four above.

Emachine serial #GC58240000866 The CD tray keeps popping out. With nothing in it, or with a cd in it. Started last night. Won't stop.

First of all, you want to do an immediate virus scan. There are several virus programs that will do that very thing. A good idea would be to go into safe mode and run both a virus scan and then a spyware scan.

If you need instructions on getting to safe mode, just google it. Works fine.

Also, there are joke programs that do it. Check your start up files to see if anything looks suspicious there. Access that by typing msconfig at the run command. Then go to startup. Remember , if you make changes you will have to reboot.

Move your cursor to the upper left corner of your screen and see if that gives you a menu to get rid of it , too.

Remember something a friend once told me when you are looking for info " Google is your friend !"
