Please guide me on,I have lost my Toshiba stalite pro laptop charger, then when I went to market I didn't get, instead I buy a 15v NEC charger to replace the current one ,a 15v charger I lost but supris

Toshiba chargers are 19V DC and from 2.37A to 3.51A, you can find chargers with more amperes (A) that's not the problem but volts (V) must be the same. You can use 16+V for emergency but without battery in your notebook. Because it can damage the battery. Connector that you need is standard M5 5.5/2.5 connector. The same one that been used for Acer, Compaque, Delta, HP, Fujicu, Getway, Toshiba and Liteon, but you need to be careful becose there is M7 5.5/2.1 connector. You can differ only by the width of the inner cylinder on connector. You can buy universal notebook adapter for lower price than orginal one, just buy 90W or stronger ones.

Can i use any charger on s505

The Toshiba Satellite 5205 series of Notebook PC, and the S505 series model; uses an AC adapter (Charger) that produces 15 Volts DC.

http://www.sparepartswarehouse.com/Toshiba,Satellite,5205,PS520U-31P1RV,Laptop,AC-Adapters.aspx

You will see AC adapters sold that show 15 to 24 Volts. (DC)

http://www.duracelldirect.com/toshiba_satellite-5205-s505_ac-adapters_laptop_ac-b20h.aspx

This is because the AC adapter (Charger) has PFC.
Power Factor Correction,

http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Everything-You-Need-to-Know-About-Power-Supplies/181/2

Also I see it is just a two pin AC adapter plug, to laptop.
Center hole is Positive, outer metal cylindrical metal shell is Negative.

Go for 75 Watts or higher though, and not a 65 Watt model.

[ On the case of the AC adapter;
Input: 100 ~ 240 VAC 50-60Hz

Means it can use from 100 to 240 Volts AC, and either 50 or 60 Hertz.

Output: 15VDC 6A

Means 15 Volts DC at 6 Amp's. (Amperes)

Watch the outside dimension of the cylindrical part, and the center hole dimension. Outside cylinder may be correct, but center hole may be too small. Or vice-versa.

My Toshiba wont turn on. I tried holding the power

Hi there, Your ac adapter is damaged & that's why power does not transfer in your notebook. The capacitor of adapter is burned & that's why the noise started. Thanks & waiting for your feedback.

Battery/Power problem

many toshiba laptops used a 15 volt supply, but look at he label attached to the bottom of the unit. it should spell out what voltage and what current (in amps). if a 15 volt supply is used that can only supply 100 milliamps, while the laptop needs more than 1000 milliamps, the laptop will play dead
