Welcome Screen Blinking Gateway Monitor

I have a FPD1976W 19" Widescreen High Def Monitor and the menu screen keeps blinking on and off it reconizes the buttons when it pps up but it will not stop popping up when you hit the menu button. What should I do same problem with the fpd1976w. Unfortunetely it seems like none of the side buttons work correctly anymore. They all bring up the "Welcome" Screen as if i just bought the computer. I already tried both DVI and VGA and even plugged it in to my PS3 via DVI to HDMI, same thing happens. Im guessing its hardware problems. Someone has to know how to fix this.

I would suggest that you re-install the disc. that comes with the screen.

If that doesn't work, check to see that your video card is working correctly.

My FPD1976W Gateway monitor will display for only 2-3 seconds then go black. I can turn monitor off then back on it will display for 2-3 seconds then again go black. Start button is not blinking. Does this...

You've got it, one of the circuit boards has one or more failed capacitors.

If you decide to take it apart, check for capacitors with either a bulging top or a yellow stain underneath on the board itself.

Befored taking it apart, because you will, even if just slighty, damage the screen case, check your warranties. I had one pop recently, it had a 3 year - return to base warrany.

Gateway FPD1976W 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor. The "TOUR" menu and Adjustment menus keep flashing on and off, and do not respond when you press the side button to shut them off

davea47, Your monitor's internal "switchmode-power-supply" is probably having a problem. You may need to do some electrolytic filter capacitor replacement!!! Problem not new one!! You or qualified lcd monitor technician will need to open unit for inspection/evaluation of power supply board. Do some reading in the fixya profiles of "budmrtn" "buddymc" "12fixlouie" (me) and follow links you find there. After investigating your unit let us tech's here at fixya know what you will do to repair unit. 12fixlouie

Gateway 19 inch fpd1976w problem

Power supply will be the first place to look, look for bad caps (bulging tops or bottom seals). Check it out and post back what you find so we can guide you further, see example of failed monitors due tobad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
The high pitch you are hearing can be from the bad lamp soldering connection, it is arcing.

New 19" flat screen monitor only shows analog on the screen

finwiz,
When you on your computer, does any thing appear on the screen, some text display/logo etc.?
If yes then:
  • After making power on your computer start pressing F8 till boot option menu appears.
  • Then select safe mode and if it works, then goto device manager and re-install driver for your display.
If no then:
  • Check out the connection from monitor to computer and try. If still no luck then post comment whats you did and what was the result.

Thanks
