I just get a black screen when i turn on my ps3 system

When i turn on my system it just show a black screen.

Ok do not worry this may mean two things crached hard drive or a corrupted hard drive all you have to do is turn it on but let the red ligth be on turn it on do not remove your finger from the button until it go's off again turn it on again keep your finger until it makes a sound but still do not remover your finger untill it makes two sounds after eachouther take your finger of fast nou a screen will apear say restore sestem untill your ps3 works again it take 1-4 trys and if nothing happens you must format it.HOPE I WAS USEFULL PLZZ RATE ME AND IF THERE IS ANYTHING ELS EMAIL ME TO [email protected] I DO PS1,2,3,DVD PLAYERS AND PC sorry for my spelling i am only 13 and i afrikaans BUT PLZZZ RATE ME..thanks..

Ah the PS3, a hive of problems with that little gadget. Well this problem is simple, check the connecting wires on the rear panel, make sure the cords are properly connected to the appropriate ports, also make sure they are free of any dirt or muck. If this didn't help, you may want to return the unit with your warranty card and exchange it for a new one. Sony hasn't completely finished designing the PS3 yet, in a few years they will complete a prototype of the newer version, just like what they did with the PS2, remember it used to be fat? Then came the Slimline which proved to be more reliable. That's what will happen to the PS3 soon.

try switching it off from back and switch back on and hold in start button for 10 secs it should work

  • Hold down the Power Button for 5-6 seconds - until you hear the second beep.

A problem has occurred the last time the ps3 system was last used, and the system did not turn off correctly. after that thing pops up after i turn it on i press yes send to ps3 place and then it sends in...
Try a video reset first.

While the PS3 is off (red led)

Hold down the power button until you hear the second beep, quickly release.

Let me know if that solves your problem otherwise it's a corrupt file system.

turn power switch on in the back. red light on in the front, hold the power button until system turns back off. this resets all hardware settings. if this doesn't work and the system is ok (green light) then you have a connection problem to the tv

PS3 will play on AV but will not in HDMI
  1. Connect via AV and turn on the system.
  2. Go to Setting and then Display setting
  3. Select the connector type on your TV.
  4. After you selected connector your TV screen may go staid black. Try to hook your HD cable while the system is still on. (This step should be done in 30 sec. If not, will go back to previous screen)
  5. Your TV Screen should be on via HD cable

To assign the contollers, you need to plug them direcly into the PS3 for a minute, then unplug and restart. (You only need to do this once, but sometimes every so often)

Make sure your TV is set to the correct input method for the PS3 to show up on the screen. Ex. HDMI

Try getting a new AV Option, well actually first startup your PS3, startup your controller, and hit the center PS3 button, because those 2 options are only in the Main PS3 Option, which is accesed and closed through hitting the middle button on your controller. Hope this helped.
