Question about D-Link DI-624M Router (DI624MRE)
My DI-624M previously worked in an Ethernet network including my main WinXP desktop, WinMe laptop and a standalone network printer server plus a WinXP laptop via wireless. I had changed the IP address from the provided default and it was fine. Last week, I downloaded a new firmware, ie, version 2.5 from DLink as di624M_firmware_250.bix. There was problem in loading it to the router per DLink's instruction. It never gave any indication of success. All subsequent attemps failed. Resetting to factory defaults, re-doing network connection setup from the main computer, etc. All LEDs are happily lit or blinking. Systm reports "working properly" in 1394 Net Adapter or Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC. The cable modem connected directly to the computer works. Your help is appreciated.
