It takes a lot of force to break a charger connector in the charge socket, so the connector socket in the iBook will probably be damaged and needs replacing. Take it to a reputable repairer, or, if you have the skills, you can fit a replacement DC In Board.

How many hours does it take to replace a DVD drive in a 14" iBook G4? Someone told me it can take up to 8 hours.

Should not take more than 1 hour. I have had one of these apart. It isn't the easiest of the iBooks to take apart, but it doesn't take more than an hour. Maybe a total of 2 hours to take apart replace and put back together for someone that has never done it before.

My G4 Notebook stopped recognizing the cdrom

The problem could be that the wiring has gone bad or that your cd-rom has completely been fried. The only way to fix this problem is to check wiring and if it is not that than buy a external cd rom drive.

My mobile phone does not recognize the bluetooth of my Ibook G4. when i search for devices it doesnt recognize my ibook

is it discoverable?
click on the bluetooth icon on the upper right corner of your finder bar, and set up new bluetooth device.
make sure both your phone, and your mac are "discoverable" in system preferences under bluetooth.

Ibook g4 rebuild

Hi there.
Make sure you have the voltage and amperage right first before you try and power up the motherboard.
Most laptop motherboards run on 15, 19 or 20 volts and take a different amperage like 3.42A for example.
The power in will be displayed underneath the ibook so take a look there.
Don't plug a 24 volt power supply into it unless it specifies that because you could damage the board.

Good luck with project

Apple iBook G4 Track Pad (Mouse) not funtioning

I think the first thing you should do is make all updates. I know that in some versions of the iBook G4, the trackpad does not work after installing OS X 10.4 (Tiger) before you do the updates. Update your OS X first. secondly, does the button work? Does the trackpad show up in the System Preferences menu? (under keyboard and mouse). It's very unlikely that the trackpad came unhooked unless someone has opened up your computer. If they have, there is a really good chance that they didn't plug it back in, because it's a hassle and easy to forget.

Ibook G4 shuts down by itself

You are having a problem with the logic board/power supply. I had the same issue a while back. I hope it is still under warranty as it is around a 500 - 600 dollar fix. If you take it into apple and they take your computer in for a repair and they mess it up, they will replace it with a newer one, which is what happened to me. So I hope you have similar luck, but other wise you might consider upgrading to a newer model just to avoid the cost if it is still not under a extended apple warranty. Which I bet is the case, being it is a G4 (6-8 years old).
