It isn't possible to transfer your music from a minidisc to a computer...Sony made it so you can only transfer from a computer to the minidisc...Very bad engineering, but that is the bad news...

That's true for digital transfer, but stuff you really want could go analogue via patch cables. I capture into Cool edit so i can choose the end format, its just not atrac!

Hi,

Can I put my micro sd 16gd into this and play music through usb on car stereo?

To my knowledge, USB ports on smartphones are only used for transferring files to/from a PC. You'll need either a mini-phono (1/8") input on your car stereo and a male-male mini-phono adapter cord or play to a Bluetooth receiver that either transmits to your car's FM band or has an audio input to your car stereo. The red light in my stero stay on any time i put it on

Clearly the red light is a protection device. Sadly you have probably blown one of the main power output devices in the amp. If you know which channel the two wires that touched belong to, it will narrow which one has gone.

Thank you for your email. The problem must have been dust. I kept putting the cleaning disc in for quite a number of times. Thankfully the problem was simple and it is playing super.

Question about a Shelf Stereo System

You can use any analog Audio input out of 3 at rear of this system to listen laptop sound. Audio Cord is required to hook up and its look like red-white RCA pins at one end and other end is like headphone stereo jack for laptop. Audio Cord is available at Sony Part Center.
Hope above info will help you.

Transfer music from Mini Disk back to Computer

Unfortunately, there is no way to transfer music from a sony mini-disc player to a computer other than playing it through your sound card and recording it. Sony specifically disabled this ability to dissuade consumers from transferring music from one person to another, and this is one of the reasons that Mini Disc Players did not take off.
