The Fuser is getting HOT. Error code 50.9 appears on our HP 3600N

The machine is making grinding noises and when we print an envelope it is scrunching the envelope up. The Fuser is really hot today and this problem started approx 1 week ago. Printer is used in an office setting and is approx 1.5 years old and is used rather heavily.

WHAT IS THE THUMPING NOISE WHEN PRINTING?

Two possibilities I can provide:

1. The fuser pressure roller is out of round and the noise is the flat spot hitting the hot roller on every rotation.

2. These printers have an envelope mode that activates a solenoid in the fuser when printing envelopes to force air out of an envelope.

If it makes the noise constantly then it is the fuser. If only as the page is exiting then it is the envelope mode.

PRINT RUBS OFF

When printing envelopes ensure you set paper/media type to Envelopes, and feed via tray 1/bypass . Paper type setting sets correct fuser temp, the fuser is the hot bit at the rear that "melts" the image into the paper.

If paper type is set correctly then I recommend you change the fuser unit.

Ensure envelopes are standard type. ie you are printing on paper envelopes

Printer hp 2055 fuser error 50.3

Re: hp laserjet 4100tn - 50.3 fuser error

A 50.3 error means that the temperature of the fuser got to high.
Just try switching it of for 20 minutes and try again.
If it happens during a large print job, this may help, if the error returns when powering up the machine, the fuser is faulty, but if so, that means it would have to be replaced.

If you are printing narrow media (A5, envelopes) etc. try printing them in small batches,, and allow the printer to cool of in between batches.

Each time I try to print envelopes on the HP Color Laser Jet CP3505x printer, I am gettig a Fuser 50.2 error message

It's unfortunate Janice but your fuser cannot get hot enough to print on an envelope and the only thing you can do is buy another fuser... sounds like the fuser is still able to heat up enough for regular prints on regular paper so you may want to keep it around for a spare but companies usually sell cheaper when you have a core to return to them... Envelopes get wrinkled while printing

The problem is likely the envelopes.
OK, I'll explain what is happening first.
If you think about it this way: The envelope has air in it, not alot but some, as it moves into the fuser "the heater" the air heats up and expands. If the envelope does not have enough "leaks" for the hot air to escape it creates a bubble in the envelope that gets squashed as it moves thru the fuser giving you the wrinkles.
Does that make sense?
Most envelopes (if you have ever looked closlely at them) have small openings in the corners that let the air escape.
Sometimes the opening are to small or not there at all.
Yes the heat can also seal the envelope. Usually not if you are using laser specific envelopes.

Now that was a long winded way of saying try new envelopes made for laser printers.
Hope this helps

PRINTING IS SMEARY AND NOISY

If there is a clicking noise as the printer is printing then most likely the fuser film has torn. The fuser film is part of the fuser unit. This item is best replaced by a technician.

Have you found pieces of film like material around the printer paper exit? It is most likely a dark grey color.

Hp 4250 GHOSTING

Are you telling the machine that paper type is letter head or envelopes, It must be done, it changes temp of fuser to suit the paper type, no it is not a power supply problem change paper type to card stock/thick/letterhead etc to suit then machine will adjust temp to suit.. ie file, print properties paper type.

50.2 fuser error replace fuser.

marglet, Turn-off and unplug the printer for a couple of minutes...there may be improper setting stuck in the printer memory. then plug it in and try to print the envelopes..if that doesn't work...Make sure there aren't any custom print settings causing this. Lastly...Try updating the drivers. Download the latest drivers from the site. http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/search/search_request.do?pageName=HP+printers_land Good Luck, Tim
