Question about LeapFrog Leapster 2 Learning System
Our leapster 2 would not work past the 'Important message' screen. My husband made sure that the DS card was removed first, then instead of turning the unit over and putting the battery pack in then doing the screw up, he actually did it in reverse. He put the leapster unit onto the battery pack. It seems that the batteries slightly move when you turn the unit upside down.

We have 3 Leapsters. The old green model and 2 newer models. Our green one started doing that not long after having it. But it still works and if it shuts off, then we just turn it back on again. When I called up c/s for Leapster, they sort of make it difficult to return. And then I was not promised a new one, but it could be new or refurbished. I let it go. Now w/ the 2 new models, I believe this has happened. I've questioned if my kid's are accidentally hitting the power button. I have seen the green one power off before. I purchased the $10 plug in's. So worth it. No more batteries. And we haven't had any issues. So perhaps it is the batteries. Call up Leapster though and see what they have to say. Good luck! :)

I simply cleaned the inside if the unit with an eraser and then pulled the sd from slot blew in it. Then it worked perfectly fine!

Interesting. We just gave my daughter this for her birthday on Friday and it's now Monday and it has done this. I've changed the batteries twice (with all new ones) and it still does it. I'm hoping since it is still so new and bought less than 3 months ago we can just exchange at the store. I'm calling them in a bit!

I have the same problem. Its not the batteries at all. Mine did the same thing after only a few months. A lot of people are having this problem from what I've read online. Now all this money I've invested in games is a complete loss! I don't want to purchase another leapserst2 only to get 3 months use from it.
