Sounds like this is a water level problem. Too much water is being released into ice tray, which raises the water level above the depth of each cube form, causing one big cube. You can adjust the water level.

How can i solve the prob of ice cubes freezing

This may not be the problem now but by the sound of the malfunctioning unit, it could be in the future. The start device on some models of refridgerator for maytag and whirlpool have been recalled. If your appliance was manufactured in the last 5-10 years you may be having an issue with this component. Mine recently caught on fire at this device that is located near the compressor. If you would like to be a part of the petition for a recall on this appliance contact me at jboooor@hotmail.com

it sounds like the water valve is not shutting of when it should / and flooding the tray. . . other possible cause is temp in freezer is not low enough . should be 0 to 5 deg .in tempt . ck these/ if ice cubes are too large this is a clue that valve is letting in to much water .. **** hope this helped.. I think changing the valve first would be the best ..

Icemaker makes shells. Outside is frozen but

Hollow cubes are caused by not having enough water in the ice mold. Fill it up manually by pouring water in it and see how the cubes turn out.
look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water. + is more water.

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

There is a screen filter before the water inlet valve in the water line. It can get partially stopped up with sediment blocking water flow.

Kenmore ice maker problem

the problem is an unlevel icemaker to prove this do you see little droplets of water freezing from the icemaker or a remote possibilty is do you have to an R/O system and have you change the filter if unit has one.

Water in icemaker overflows into ice cube storage box AND CAUSES ICE CUBES TO FREESE TOGETHER AND FORM BIG ICE CHUNKS. ALSO THE FULL SHUT OFF PADEL HAS ICE FORM ON TOP OF IT

Check the ice maker after it dropped the ice cubes and when it calls for water it should be pouring it for no much more than 7 seconds ,if more it overflows, in this case the module board inside the ice maker has to be replaced(or for almost the same price with parts and labor you can replaced it for a new ice maker) But if water is sitting in the ice maker all the time , the dual valve which supplies water to the ice maker is leaking and needs to be changed (it's located at the back of the fridge in the bottom behind the cover where the water line is hooked up).

Ice cubes melting and then sticking together

If you have dispenser to get ice or water, there is a cover to it that opens and closes as you ask for ice. If that mechanism is not working it stays open all the time and causes your ice to melt because cold air scapes. You should be able to replace that yourself. Sears sells that part. It is not very expensive. There is a cover over the dispenser pannel. It should right behind it
If you Agur that suppose to turn the ice to dispense, that could burn up too because the agur can not turn all chunk of ice

The bin on my ice maker forms big chunks of ice

check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice, OR cause the thaw-freeze cycle resulting in chunks. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.
