First of all i would like to tell you that this could be an Operating System Crash, so you need to first run two commands in the run box

chkdsk c: /r -->> This might will ask you Yes / No, say yes to it and reboot the computer

OR ESLE

run after using the above command sfc /scannow

If none of them works you need to run Inplace Upgrade

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I'm having the same problem, not quite sure whether it is happending due to upgrade to IE 8 or Windows Installer 4.5 installation. Cleanup and re-install of Yahoo Messenger 10 won't help. The YahooMessenger.exe fails to initialize right during the installation process.

You can reinstall the entire operative system with the CD that comes with your laptop, or with the restoration partition. See user's manual. This is the best way to fix error in a PC. Before restore the OS, backup your personal data.
