Tune-up instructions needed

My XL-6000 needs a tune up, bu I don't have anyone locally I can take it to. Is there a manual or something that has tune up instructions that I can use? I have cleaned out the lint in the bobbin casing, and oiled it with machine grade oil. Is there something else I need to do? Thanks in advance.

It really needs to be oiled and cleaned in places u cant get to which means it needs to be taken apart by a tech that cleans them, ask me I learned the hard way.......I hadnt used my machine very long by I do use it alot and first it started to get a little louder not a lot but I could notice it.....then it started to mess up a little bit here and there and I always cleaned it oiled where they said blowed it out with the vac and all.......but it still went crazy on me lol, I was doing braclets for my granddaughters scoccer beach blast and had like 20 more to go and it just froze......just froze........so I thought it was maybe to hot. Shut it down for the night.......Next day still nothing, had to find someone to take it to...1 and a half hours away I finally found someone, had to leave it........what it needed was oiling where I couldnt get to, and cleaning where I couldnt get to......so it burnt the motor......had to have it replaced, was gone for 2 weeks. UGH....but now she purrrrrrrrs like a kitten again thank god.......I had only used it since December of 08, it was still new......but it still needed a tune up, and I didnt know any better, thought that how bad could it be, so I just kept it real clean and oiled so I thought NOT! Silly me.......2 weeks later and a nice bill and new motor........and Im off again.....next time something seems to be off...this baby is taking a ride....I cant afford those kinds of problems............so take my advice fine someone even if u need to take a day and drive it somewhere, but dont not do it, inside this baby is lots of boards and things that if u open it u wont get it back together correct, oh ya I did that to and they had to fix that too
:( not a good idea. Machine is worth to much not to fine tune it when it should be, but even if u dont think it needs it cause its new or u just had it done.......think again if it sounds funny.......something is wrong, hope u wont need to find out the way I did....good luck...am so happy to have mine home again, didnt know how much I loved it till it was gone lol

Where can I get a conversion software

I also have an XL-6000, and I have the PSW 1.0 software. There is a patch for the 1.0 and 1.1 software for Win 7, as well as instructions. I would recommend that you join a Yahoo group called TeamSewAmused. It's dedicated to the XL-1000, XL-5000 and XL-6000, as well as the PSW 1.0 and 2.0 software, and they have LOADS of instructions in their Files section. Your software WILL run in Windows 7 and Windows 8 and 8.1.

Seeking French manual for Singer Quantum XL-6000

I just checked the Singer site, and it appears that while it's available, it costs $60. The English version is a free download! You might want to check the user's groups in Facebook and Yahoo, though; there might be other members who have a copy and are willing to share.

Looking to tune up brother CP 6500. Squeaking And skipping occasional stitches. What grease to use and where to apply grease?

No grease please, only quality sewing machine oil. Some machines marked the oil positions with red. Small holes. Else take the top and left side covers of and use just a drop of oil where moving parts are joint. Here too you should find small holes that need a drop now and then.

I need a manual for a Japanese Made Electra Royal XL 6000 sewing machine = Model #11065.

I have the complete manual that came with this very same machine - Electra Royal XL 6000. I can email if you would like. Do you know where I can find bobbins for it? The brand seems extinct. Thanks.

Wont sew bottom looper not working

Check threading and put in new needles, if it doesn't work after that. Make sure to thread it per instructions and in the right order. If you don't it won't work properly.
If that fails a tune up will be needed.

We are trying to use a monogram wizard file wtih the singer quantum XL-6000. We have the image saved in a file but are not sure how to import to embroidery machine. Please help.

You must convert the Monogram Wizard file to a format that your XL 6000 can read. If you have the Singer Sew Ware Conversion Tool, you can do this by opening the conversion software and simply saving the file as an (note: Fixya thinks the "dot triple x" file format is profanity, but it's the main file format used for the XL-6000 so I had to type it out this way) or a .sew format. Once the file is in the correct format, you can then import it to the XL 6000. To import, you must have a special cable (serial port to USB) that has an FTDI chip in it. Only serial port to USB cables with the FTDI chip will work. Here is a link where you can purchase said cable: http://www.cablesalesusa.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=472&products_id=1968

After using the cable with FTDI chip to connect your computer to your XL 6000, you must then ensure the com port settings match. I am including below some links that may be helpful to you in figuring all this out. These documents were helpful to me when I was trying to figure out all this stuff for my XL 6000, and I hope they will also be helpful to you. Blessings to you and yours.

How to change the COM port for USB Serial adapter on Windows 7

How to configure the Singer Approved USB Adapter with Windows 7

I also have additional helpful files, but this site will not allow me to upload a file in .pdf format. If you would like to provide your email address, I would be happy to email the documents to you. One is a workbook for the XL 6000 (much more detailed than the Owner's Manual).

Here are two additional pages that might be helpful: trying-use#solution-section-lzldskb0i2jni14zl4eksues-1-3.jpg trying-use#solution-section-lzldskb0i2jni14zl4eksues-1-6.jpg

Smart media card and embroidery machine

Your machine needs to go into the shop.

Select a Singer dealer and have your purchase information in case this is something that is covered by your warranty.

Describe your how to oil singer xl 6000 Problem

Singer doesn't recommend self-oiling on this machine, that is why there are no instructions in the manual. You should take your machine to a trusted repair facility for oiling.

MY XL 6000 IS NOT WORKING

Dear snoopy5,

First of all, the XL 6000 is a fantastic machine and offer excellent value for money, but you need to take care of your machine. My first suggestion would be to check the feeding mechanism for any tangled up thread. Look carefully under a bright light. I suppose you know how to get to the mechanism by opening the light cover and swing it open on its hinges.

If it makes any noises do not try to operate the machine, as you can cause more damge.

Regards

Dupina
