Question about Sony VAIO VGN-FS840/W Notebook
Optical drive sony viao vgn fs840/w isnt recognized by windows xp. i did a clean install of xp pro, have service pack 2 and installed all the drivers frothe siny web site but when i click on my coputer it still wont show it. the drive does work but i cant use it. how do i get it to show?
Try downloading the VIAO update tool
this will ensure you have the latest software + drivers for your system.
problems with CD drives tend to be problems with the IDE drivers, so it may be a good idea to download the latest Chipset drivers either directly from sony (or using the tool above)
or downloading from the intel website
