Question about Ducane 455 inch 2 - 3 Burner with rotisserie Grill

1 Answer

The burners sounds like a jet plane.

The burners also pop and go out. The Ducane grill is about 15 years old and I've never had a problem or needed service.
Please help.
Thank You,
Mr. Rawmeat

Make sure the burners are clean, each and every little hole must be clean. It sounds as though the flame is burning near the inlet of the burner which can occur if the holes are restricted too much.

None of my igniters on my 30400043 Ducane grill will light the burners. I've had a grease fire due to the burners rusting out and replaced the burners. The insulation on the wires to the igniters has...

As I tell customers, when they ask me, "How long will this grill last?" "That depends on well you take care of it with routine maintenance and cleaning."

The wiring for the electronic ignition and the spark ignitors are replaceable. The ignitor button or the "clicker" as you called is replaceable. But all you may to do, is change the battery inside the igniter button. To help you further, i have included a link to the Owner's Manual for your grill. It will have an exploded view of the parts, which should help you identify them by part number and order them from Ducane, if you like.

A far as the infrared burners are concerned, they blow out easily if the wind is just blowing slightly. That's why they have a thermocouple on the burner, to turn the gas off to it, when it gets blown out. When preheating an infrared burner, the hood/lid of the grill should be closed.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Install replacement burners

You've got a job ahead of you! Duncane is the only grill on the market that I know of, that requires the removal of the Control Panel to remove and/or install new burners.

Here is a link to the Owners Manual. What you need to know starts on page 21 (Annual Maintenance). Good luck.

You can download and print the manual for future reference.

Hope this helps you. Please let me know. Thanks.

How do I remove the old burners to replace with new?

Should be as easy as removing the screws at the ends of the tubes and sliding the tubes away from you and putting the new ones in like you took out the old ones.

How to clean a gas grill with clogged jets

You can take the burners out of the grill, and if you can get to the orifices, they will hopefully unscrew. You can use canned air and a pipe cleaner to clear any blockages. If you can't get to the jets after taking out the burners, you will have to do further disassembly of the grill. When you have the burners out you might also check for any blockage in the burner venturis.

Cannot light new burners

I just replaced my burners and I also cleaned the starters. Get a wire brush about the size of a tooth brush to clean the starter, the thing that makes the spark to start the flame.

Lighting Problem/2 year-Old Ducane Grill

Do you have enough gas pressure coming out of the regulator and gas valve? You'll need a pressure guage for this.

If yes, try taking out the burners and cleaning them with a wire brush, especially the flame spreading sections.
