My Dell vostro 1710 usb slots are not working

I have a similar problem in Dell Vostro 1720.
If I reboot in Windows Safe Mode, the USB ports work as expected.
So, I don´t believe it is a BIOS problem.
How can I reinstall Windows drivers for USB?

It sounds like the bios may have become corrupt knocking them and the WiFi out.
Go here to dell support and download the bios (it has to be on the machine that's faulty) make sure the laptop is plugged in to the mains power when you update the bios >>>>>>>>

Hopefully the USB's and the WiFi will come back to life again.
